2. it's always a source of amazement when someone misses a KO in the vid forum here...
it's prolly our duty to pull them all and drop them in here regardless, and Maher, New Rules, Colbert, etc, just drop them all & get it over with

3. You know...
I am going to say something outlandish...but I am not sure why Olbermann continues to cheapen himself with a reference to Edward R Murrow...he is much more out on the edge than Murrow ever was.

I've seen this one before...it's a bullseye. I am pretty sure he did a straight up angry piece about whether M$NBC was 'wrong' to declare Iraq a 'civil war' to much protest. (remember all that self-righteous troll...which was repeated endlessly when the new term was 'surge')

I liked the movie "Good Night, and Good Luck" for the art form.

But I can't figure out why 'liberal' Hollywood would set the public yardstick for Media/journalism wayback in the middle part of the last century, when there was a lot more juicy intrigue going regarding journalism?

(perhaps a breathless Syriana take on what it took to publish the Pentagon Papers! Nawh -- an Indy period film set in the late 60/early 70s appealing to an older demographic financed by big time Democrats wouldn't be viable...Shrek the Third is!)

Also in that movie I couldn't understand why the whole idea of speaking out to authority was cheapened by some lame back story regarding some corporate rule (still in place) about workplace marriages. Was that suppose to be some allusion to marriage discrimination in the 21th century? It seemed crazy...

Just like Olbermann trying to reach out to whatever passes for his profession. It's a lost cause, until we look at the context.

/sorry for the rant but I can't understand why Olbermann signs off that way

4. I don't think he cheapens himself. He's just being modest.
As I pointed out some time ago, he's already made way more Murrow-like commentaries on his show than Murrow ever did on his. And he's not just imitating Murrow, either, because he's not just the next Murrow...he's the first Olbermann.

As for "liberal Hollywood," I'm not sure I get your point.

6. Oh I stand corrected...
"As I pointed out some time ago" and I just did again, what your real beef about my post? Ya Murrow -- Wayback Machine -- the other century.

Ya 'liberals' pretending to be a spokespeople for 'people' and journalism and the rest of the crud that passes for art, culture and the American Way of Narrative.

Sorry to upset you...since you apparently PWNED this 'topic'

5. Keith Olbermann is the right news commentator for the folly of the Bush Administration
...but I hope that when Bush falls Olbermann will take a more reasonable yet just as thorough presentation style say like Eric Sevareid.
