27. Start a list of reporters who get it!
Charles Osgood took the lead this morning on CBS sunday morning...

The quote "For those who care...Lindsey Lohan was arrested last night..." That was it...just one line...not much of an explanation, no fan fare, just a 1 second blurb!

Love It! Responsible reporting...more then what it deserves...but less then most reports will say!

And for a while there he just kept hammering home the disconnect between 9-11 and Iraq and how dumb the neo-cons were to take us there. Man, I hope he runs!

31. No one person did?
... while a misstatement on Al's part - I do give both Newt Gingrich & Al Gore credit for championing the "Commercial Internet" cause in government during their 15 minutes of fame?

34. It was not a "misstatement" on Al's
part". The corporatemediawhores took up the fascist wing lies about Al Gore and had everyone believing Al said it. But, Gore had a huge hand in carrying the internet forward so we're just shoving it back in their collective lyin' gin hole.

I have been without a TV for almost a year now. Haven't missed it much, other than things like this and Desperate Housewives.

What a wise, wise man- we need him to run for President. Did you see the face he made early in the show when someone shouted out "run for President!"

19. Instead of appearing on TV talk shows, he should be holding press conferences from the Rose Garden.
:( Sigh... this would & should have been the 7th year of his presidency.

18. It's all a bit see-through, don't you think?
He's wearing black, meaning "I'm not visible - yet!"

You can bet he'll run for president. It's a carefully crafted show we're witnessing.

26. A carefully crafted "show?"
Edited on Sun May-27-07 12:57 PM by RestoreGore
Oh, I get it. His passion for the environment all of these years, Current TV, Generation Investment Management, An Inconvenient Truth both the movie (which he didn't want to do at first) and the book, and the one he wrote for younger readers (which I would bet not many here even knew he had written,) The Climate Project, the training, The Alliance for Climate Protection, the Live Earth concerts, The Assault On Reason and all of the other speeches he gave before the last election he DIDN'T run in and all of the work he has been doing globally to bring awareness regarding this crisis are all just some "show" to make PEOPLE LIKE HIM. Seems like a hell of a lot of trouble to go through just to make people like him so they will vote for him. What absolute BS. I think I need to take a break from here because this incessant 2008 obsession is getting kind of creepy at this point.

Through all of the responses there also isn't one response in regards to the fact that this country has been sickened by a disease that has now made power the ultimate drug of those in government that use it to sell fear, so much so that we are willing to sacrifice our Representative Democracy for it. And that is exactly why he wrote this book, because it took him thirty years in that sham of a system to get NOTHING done about the climate crisis precisely because the same interests have used fear, misinformation and a lack of reason to persuade people that the climate crisis either does not exist or isn't something to worry about over their own interests.

But hell, by your logic maybe Mr. Gore made all that up too just to get votes, right, because he is just a lying calculating politician just putting on a show. And then why really talk seriously about this either, because it is only to be used as a conversation starter to get votes in this corrupted toxic system we don't have the guts to really stand up to, and is all a sham on his part anyway to get people to LIKE HIM so they will vote for him. He is really like the very system he excoriates in this book, and this is all only part of some clandestine deceptive political campaign to get revenge. Good lord. If that is what many here really think of this man, I don't see how you can call yourselves supporters of his, unless some saying this are not who they would have us believe. This sounds more like something a media pundit would say.

29. Was there something wrong with your cornflakes this morning?
1. Not every showman is a liar (you implied that).
2. What he does recently is carefully crafted to steer towards a "surprise" candidacy for 2009. It's so obvious it gives the surprise away. I bet there's already a team behind him giving him advice for every move he makes in public. But I don't regard his aspirations as a bad thing, I think it's rather clever the way he plays it. It's fun to watch what he does. Hillary and Obama have no snowballs chance in hell against his unique "non-campaign" campaign. And I think that's great.

And you implied he was lying to all of us about his intentions so I responded. If you think it is great to think him a lying political player go ahead. It isn't surprising to me here.

39. I didn't imply anything.
Read point 1 of my previous post. He's not lying, but I think he's not telling the whole truth about his intentions right now. Which is ok for a strategy. Seeing politicians and public figures in a realistic light (and not as immaculate gurus) protects from disappointment. There's always hurt feelings at the end of any guru trip.

33. ONWARD!!!
Thanks for showing my President. We're all marching on - and as long as we keep up the fight, we'll win.

It may take time, it will take money, it will take the effort of all of us "believers" out there -

but we WILL WIN.

PS- those of us who haven't donated to the best site in the United States should give it another thought - that $5 could help us save the United States as we know it!

..how come Gore is not a candidate for your next Presidential elections? From this distance, he appears as the most articulate, charismatic, intelligent, committed, leader-like person you have on your political stage. He'd win by a country mile, wouldn't he?

We Americans prefer people we can drink beers with instead of capable leaders democratically elected. You see, we wouldn't want to feel dumber than the person running the country, so we elect simpletons.

We've had enough of this bushit and the corporatemediawhores, though and Al Gore has too.
