I wouldn't say it mirrors it but it is awfully similar

1. There is only one
ruling class in America. There is only one political party with two names. Only one philosophy of government and economics in effect, and that isn't representative democracy based upon popular sovereignty.

2. Talking head idiots
Bush used GITMO and argued prisoners were outside US law because they were not on US soil. Resoundingly rejected by the SCOTUS.

Obama is trying to close GITMO and bring the imprisonment within the Law & Constitution.

In other words, Bush made a mess and Obama is cleaning up the mess.

To suggest that because there is a Bush mess, and it hasn't gotten cleaned up in Obama's first 100 days, therefore Bush & Obama have the same policies is absurd.

Furthermore, Bush used the unitary executive theory, that he could do anything because he was the decider. Obama has clearly stated he is only one branch of government, Congress and the Judicial branch will have to participate in a solution to clean up Bush's mess.

4. This is DC trying to tell Obama what they want
and to make it seem like anything else is "radical" or just simply not approved.

I agree with your post. There is a huge difference in the two approaches

Welcome to DU :hi: if'n I haven't before.

3. Interesting
Brooks starts by saying that Obama's foreign policy is just like W's. By the end, he's saying it's a "moderate GHWBush policy." That's a big, damn difference.

Moderate foreign policy vs. right wing, batsh*t, insulated, ideological foreign policy? I'll take the former, please.

5. One MASSIVE difference--under Bush we we're hated more. Under Obama we can again be liked.

All the weapons in the world can't protect against an image that cultivates terrorism, as did Bush.
