3. Very good! Why are "we" doing this? Here is why:
Because the power of domination is some kind of psychological illness inherent to human nature.

Most humans can and do, however, "control" that inherent psychological illness because they are capable of introspection.

But a lot of humans are not capable of any introspection at all. In their cases, grabbing power, more and more power quickly becomes some kind of an obsession that, most of the time, takes over from very early stages in their life.

So IMHO, that is the fundamental reason why "they" are doing this (I say "they" because I, and many others, do not do this).

In short: power, domination, materialism, money (and "metals" like gold, diamonds, etc.), and carelessness...

6. "Of course the people don't want war...."
"But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
