1. It sure is ridiculous and shameful
especially after reading about the deaths that interrogators caused with these "enhanced techniques." Jonathan is too kind to call them fallen angels. Other colorful euphemisms come to mind.

3. "Justice's OPR is a Sham:
No Prosecution, Uncertain Bar Referrals for Torture Lawyers "

By Jesselyn Radack DOJ Whistleblower

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/5/6/728358/-Justices-OPR-is-a-Sham:-No-Prosecution,-Uncertain-Bar-Referrals-for-Torture-Lawyers

excerpt :

I put OPR in scare quotes because it has acted mainly a tool for Bush administration retaliation at its worst--going after me and other whistleblowers with a vengeance, and leaving the wrongdoers untouched. It galls me that everyone has been looking to the long-awaited, tampered-with OPR report as some sort of justice. It is meaningless. Not only does it forego recommendations of criminal prosecution, it's forgoes bar referrals for Bradbury and the others, except maybe Yoo and Bybee--the two who, if referred, will not have their careers affected. Below is my Op-Ed, rejected by every major MSM in the country.

4. You're on a roll Plum. nt. Turley gets it right again.

some here have criticized turley for his views on the
Clinton impeachment - i agree with that criticism* but here
suggest that was then and this is now, that was minor and
this is critically important. so put a flippin sock in it.

*besides, he was apparently right, even if I was furious
at the time about a "misuse" of the constitution by republicans.
Given that he was right then, I see no reason not to benefit
now by impeaching certain scum holding high federal judicial office.
they know who they are. so do we.

5. I Personally Agree With Turley Completely... However I Read Post After Post
here making comments as to WHY prosecuting is a BAD idea. The DOJ should do it's job and uphold the laws and rules that have been regarding this.

I don't think ANYTHING IS going to be done, and I think those who were involved are aware of this and must be laughing. I listen to C-Span every morning and hear people comment over and over how BUSH defended America by what was done, and there should be nothing more done. He protected THIS COUNTRY!

And now, if there is no accountability why even bother with a constitution or the laws of the land. I read comments here at DU and am truly surprised by how so many here find this to be a non-issue. But then, I'm a Boomer and perhaps "out of touch" because things were different "back when!" Until the past few weeks I felt this was something worth pursuing, now I've decided that it's really useless to push forward with the idea. What will be, will be.

If this rears it's ugly head in the future, I guess those in power will have to deal with and consequences at the time. I've lost faith in our government don't think many in DC even care what "we the people" think at all. I don't even think many people even care that much.

JMO and one that's in the minority for the most part. I'm not going to argue about it anymore.

10. Does anyone know if this type of honest reporting is getting airplay overseas?
I would like to think foreign governments know that there is a strong push by the segment of the American people to expose these war criminals and bring them to face justice for their crimes.

14. Once again it appears Obama has chosen his rep well. I had hopes for
Holder, but not now. These so-called lawyers wrote memos which excused torture, even sanctioned torture, and they are now excused from any investigation/prosecution. Where is Obama coming from? There is a post on DU which criticizes Turley for his style and his views, I presume because he is disagreeing with Obama. Obama has several outstanding policies, but he likewise has some very wrongheaded ones (several of the latter of which are of monumental significance) and yet some DUers stand by his every decision or at least mitigate the effects by excuses. I have learned by now that politicians have to be reined in and watched carefully, even those one supports and in one's own party. Expecting more and better is not anti-Obama, but rather pro-American.

15. K&R
The election was stolen in 2000 and it's been downhill ever since. This economy is merely the criminals poisoning the well on their way out the door.
You want this country back? See that these war criminals pay for their crimes. Nothing LESS.

take the high road and point out the importance for investigating and prosecuting these torure crimes.
