they can start by helping the current president get some things done. The party of 'no' will get nowhere as long as they're
perceived as the party of the top tier of our society. They've stood by and watched the crumbling of the middle class, ignored health care issues and plundered social security. Their idea of starving the beast to prevent any kind of productive social programs is ludicrous. It's why republican presidents always run up the national debt. They must see the need for oversight which they are against and why our economy went south. Can they change the way their followers think? Doubtful but they should start with them.
If they can change their minds on the prejudices they have that would be a start. Otherwise the country as a whole will move on without them.
