1. It's looking more and more like Specter's loyalty is to himself.
Period.

3. Yet Obama and Biden welcomed this political opportunist with open arms. They've picked up a snake
And they better not be surprised when that snake bites them, as it will.

5. Did anyone expect this lifetime republican pig, Specter, to be anything more than a republican pig?
Edited on Sun May-03-09 02:00 PM by GreenTea
Specter cares nothing about workers only the corporations, wealthy and getting elected....

Specter changed parties before to get elected, he is a true slimy fucking republican through & through...any different than Lieberman....absolutely not!

7. Such a greasy sleaze bag
I wouldn't want to scare him away, the Dems unfortunately are best served for the moment to lick his shoes and stroke his ego. But I hope the Dems don't clear the field for him on re-election. He must be defeated in the next Dem primary. We don't need yet another blue dog DINO, working behind the scenes to sabotage any and all progressive legislation.

9. So why should you expect loyal Democrats to support your reelection?
I would have expected Arlen to at least put out some effort to act like a Democrat through the next couple of years, so if he's going this route already the Democratic Party in Pennsylvania knows what they must do in 2010......

13. don't take it personal
the party establishment, along with Obama himself, sold out CT dem voters by supporting Lieberman against Lamont, but the voters went their own way. Do the same in PA.

14. Harry Reed , WTF is this ?
During negotiations with Specter, Reed was quoted as saying that Policy Differences
Were Not Discussed !

Specter is against Card Check, He is against Health Care Reform that doesn't include
the slimy Insurance Companies, What Else ? What else does Specter bring to our side of
the aisle other than more Right Wing Bluedog bullshit ???

15. Use the "useful idiot" and then throw him to the dogs.
I absolutely don't understand why President Obama would give this guy some kind of guarantee. Overall I believe he is doing a good job, but I never understood his appointment of Geithner or Summers.

16. OK, so he'll be a disloyal Democrat?
Or he will soon change from a disloyal Democrat to a loyal one?

If this is what we're looking at, why doesn't he come out and say "I was gonna get my ass kicked
in the primary since all sane Republicans had switched their party affiliation to the Democrats
already, and I wanted to keep my Senate seat. I had no choice."

At least then, though he may have been disliked, at least no one would have accused him of being dishonest.

Republican habits die hard, I guess.

..they are sadly mistaken.

Mr. Magic Bullet... I don't know who shot JFK ..but I'll tell you anything you want to hear to get re-elected and stay on the gravy train...

Use Specter for whatever advantage we can, and run a real Democrat against him in the 2010 PA Democratic primary. Personally, I would love to vote for my congressional Representative: Adm. Joe Sestak.

Edited for pathetic spelling

19. I read a quote that distinctly puts a lie
to this one. On the phone when he told P Obama he was switching..He said "I'm a loyal Democrat".

No one forced him to say that..it was completely gratuitious. Does he have a problem with his memory?

Hopefully, after the next election, he will be a former Senator.
