Florida approves Jesus license plate.

The St. Petersburg Times:

"Asked whether he'd veto legislation to create a license plate that depicts Jesus and one that depicts a cross in front of a stained-glass window, (Florida Governor Charlie) Crist said no way.

'I would not veto those. … No, I would not,' Crist said.

So you don't have a problem with Jesus on a license plate?

Crist: 'I don't. No.'

What about separation of church and state?

Crist: 'If they don't want one they don't have to buy one.'

Is that state endorsement of religion?

'I think it … What's it say? "In God We Trust" on every single piece of monetary, coins and paper we have? I think it's fine.'"

Bugs had the solution to this issue all along.

4. If they follow the process, those should be available too
I am waiting for the day that I can have any thing I want on my license plate, just like those obnoxious credit card commercials for some bank's credit card

19. No, THIS is the plate!

You must include the bottom phrase on every religious license plate.

2. If they're going to put Jesus on a license plate why does he have to look
so DEAD?? Isn't the whole Christian faith supposed to be about hope, charity and Love?

Oh wait, that's right-most of them never actually read the New Testament, save for the ending.

I prefer this Jesus:

They'll back off the idea in a nanosecond

8. and turn the other cheek. funny how these things seem to be absent from
many of these people's religion. personally, i think if jesus were here today he would be railing against these folks as charletons and frauds. but that's just me. :)

9. Oh, it's not just you
I once asked a conservative Southern Baptist if she thought that Jesus had been a Liberal. She said "Oh yes-the most liberal person ever in history"! I said "Well, then why aren't you also a liberal"? and she replied "Because it's not about being like Jesus, it's about accepting Him as our Lord and Savior because he died for our sins". Hmmm... wouldn't "accepting Him" include accepting what he believed in? But maybe that's just us!

10. I'm surprised she would admit he's was liberal
Rather than admit his was liberal, I've heard him called a libertarian by RWers. :eyes:

18. What did Jesus ever say that sounded Libertarian?
Maybe they're using "Atlas Shrugged" as their Bible?

15. Who wants a license plate like that?
It's so smug and holier-than-thou. A way to announce "I'm so much more Christian than you".

16. I think that's the point.
It's the same principle as putting one of those PBA stickers on your trunk or back window. They think they won't get stopped for speeding.

17. Seeing a license plate like that would make me instantly distrust the driver.
Genuine Christians don't need to advertise like that.

20. It should be required for all Christians to warn other drivers they're coming.
Those "Jesus is my co-pilot" bumper stickers always made me give them a wide berth. I mean, if you think Jesus is sitting there in the co-pilot's seat (which cars don't actually have, another bad sign) just in case you decide you want to look at the pretty scenery or take a nap or something, you're really dangerous and probably shouldn't be behind the wheel. And what happens when all these Christians barreling down I-95 or whatever get raptured?
