1. These people feed their ideology at the cost of their voting base actually LEARNING from history.
The New Deal- Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1933) helped get us out of the The Great Depression -but not according to a conservative. What do conservatives attribute the end of The Great Depression to? World War 2. According to our conservative friends; The New Deal not only didn't help but in some ways prolonged the depression but they'll give every once of credit to the end of the great depression to World War 2.

So, why? Why give credit to only one, when both were major keys in jump-starting the economy?

How did World War 2 help get us out of the depression?
1. Induced massive Government spending
2. Created jobs

What did FDR's New Deal do exactly?
1. Induced massive Government spending
2. Created Jobs

Did I mention FDR was a liberal democrat? And most his critics were conservative? You put two and two together.

We entered WW2 in 1941. The Depression started in around 1930 because President Herbert Hoover's (Republican) economic policies turned a REcession into a DEpression. FDR took office in 1933; from 1933 to the day FDR left office unemployment went down EVERY YEAR -except for a spike in 1938. But let's talk about that one spike in 1938; due to so much criticism from conservatives at that time, FDR did buckle one year; for one year he did freeze spending-THAT ONE YEAR WAS 1937. So from 33 to 39 we had 3.3 million jobs created and unemployment sunk all but ONE year; yet, "The New Deal did nothing to help Americans back then".

2. Thank you
I appreciate those facts...since I'm surrounded by repubs and this will help in my arsenal!

As for the OP: Repubs are like a bunch of 2 year olds.

3. I thought there was a lot more "no" than that!
Maybe it's an old video or took a long time to get together.

Haven't they unanimously voted NO in the House about 5 times since the budget?
