3. I have had some of my liberal friends tell me

how much they like Chuck Todd's reporting! I am always blown away by that. I think Cenk hit the nail on the head when it comes to Chuck. I don't think he is a Republican syncophant or anything he is just a really lazy reporter. I got that from him during the campaign, when he would always talk about "conventional wisdom" says and then spew some inane Republican talking point about Obama. Again I don't think he is gunning for the Republicans I just think that "conventional wisdom" is code for "Republican talking points".

8. He's very good at certain things

His election analysis, particularly on the electoral college numbers, was top notch work, for example. He's good at numbers and say correlating events from the past to the present etc, but he does exist in that DC echo chamber and his analysis of day to day subjects is very much on the conventional wisdom side of things.

But the majority of society is against it - and, even if there's arguments over who thinks its torture, to call it 'political' is realllllllly questionable on Chuck's part - he should be giving the Cheney argument back at the most by saying who says its not torture, and for him to call it political makes him look paid-off. I thought the memos did provide a legal 'gateway' for those contractors and staff of CIA who may have not been lawyers but thought they were doing something that 1. our troops went through in training, 2. was considered the absolute maximum you could allow, and therefore felt uneasy but assured to follow orders, given this 'status of combatant' which was not considered the same. I'm not saying it was right. I am saying that there was a sense when I read the memos that this wasn't done without a great deal of specificity - and these were the rules and it was carefully crafted. It would be like the Chinese water torture effect - which of the million drops becomes torture - is the first? is it the thousandth?

Anyway, I didn't read Chuck Todd's comments the same given that. Since Tim Russert left, there as always been something lacking in that whole arena in my opinion.

23. I have noticed that Chuck Todd is never on Olberman's or Maddow's programs

he was a hack from a local political rag who was 'discovered' doing cut ins on cspan. I dont' know if he was from CQ or Politi-ho, but he didn't really have any real national tv journalism experience before being brought on to msnbc.

And Andrea Mitchell is married to the man who is largely responsible for the fucking financial mess we're in right now. How can anyone think that they would consider reporting fairly about anything? They both are being told what to say by those who are cutting their paychecks and they don't have the integrity to risk forgoing their cushy lifestyle by reporting on the truth.

Subtle point but critical. There are no legal opinions that santion waterboarding a guy 100-200 x's
a month or even a lifetime. That's torture. In addition, it's a good way to invalidate any information
gained from him.

Todd is a hoplite in the army of the faithful. Faithfuls to whom - the PTB and all the supporters
who think we're so exceptional that we can do crap like this. All of his experience and education
are belied by his role as a flack, like those paid audience members at La Scala. Their statements
and protests mean nothing.

Suggestioni to Cenk: Time to have Vince Bugliosi on the show or on the show again. He's smokin' on
