1. "and that's how I believe it should be between a man and a woman"
why can't any of these beauties ever string a decent sentence together?

2. Because they got/get constant positive reinforcement based solely on their looks.
So they never bother(ed) to develop a personality. Or something like that.

4. I was a late bloomer...
Basically because I was a really fat kid, and I had REALLY thick glasses. While I would say that experience was a net negative on my development, I don't discount the fact that it got me much more interested in reading, writing and introspection. And I developed a sense of humor.

I've found that to be the case with a lot of late bloomers, and I think it's largely because you don't get that constant positive reinforcement for your looks (which require little to no effort when you're young) so you're forced to develop in other areas.

14. well, no one gave us anything for our looks. We were still expected to know things like
how to conjugate Latin verbs.

8. couldn't tell if she was pro or anti gay
Which is why her answer was so confusing. Create an uproar over the fact you couldn't string the sentence right. Sore looser. Don't care which side of the issue your on, it was a bad answer. Was she for or against gay marriage? An which country does she live in? Thought California was a state, not a country???

15. Anytime I hear "that's the way I was raised" as a reason to believe or not believe in something,
I think it's a bad answer.

6. Sort of wondering, since when do they ask questions like that on Miss America?
Edited on Tue Apr-21-09 04:18 PM by RollWithIt
I remember watching it as a child, the questions were never politically motivated?

And who the hell is Perez Hilton?

9. Perez?
All I think of when I think Perez is that he's an asshole tabloid personality. Not sure who else I would confuse it with.

12. I actually googled it after I posted it...
And read through his website for a while. Wow, nothing like drawing dripping cum off the mouth of someone or draw penis near a woman's vagina to draw credibility. I mean, I'm all for gay marriage but this is the Miss America Pageant now?

7. one of my local news anchors weighed in on this....
mary alice demler must have been in beauty pageants because she was talking about miss america and how they weren't judged on their answers to the questions as their ability to back them up, or whatever. I don't really care that this woman believes that marriage is between a man and a woman, and i certainly think that this perez hilton is somewhat an idiot in his own right.... if that's what she believes then that's fine. my question is whether she believes that her religious beliefs should be legislated. though, i personally don't give a crap what this woman thinks either way. as long s she is not in a position to make any policy decisions or pass legislation.... i don't care. I intensely dislike beauty pageants in general. i was never that great looking i suppose. i had thick glasses and such and loved reading and learning. it would have been nice to be popular, but i wasn't going to jump through hoops for anyone either. I hated barbie dolls as a kid and any idea that i had to fit into a certain type of mold. Looks fade. Eventually those looks go away and you had better damn well have something deeper than that to keep you going!!

19. well, if the bad childhood has altered one's brain, then there could be something there.
but from what I saw of this woman, there was no attention paid to her brain during her childhood at all.

17. poise.
I would assume that a beauty queen should be poised and ready to speak in public. She obviously is not, even though she "thinks" she won.

13. I can't believe nobody has mentioned the dumbest part of her answer
It's in the very beginning when she says it's wonderful that we live in a country where we can CHOOSE which kind of marriage, same or "opposite".
CHOOSE? REALLY? What an utter dimwit!
