Sounds to me she was privy to information about crossings by more than the reported terrorist crossings that have happened in the past. Putting Canada on the same level as Mexico for border security.

Where was Bush-Cheney on this issue? Did they make us less safe by not enforcing the borders equally before now?

1. Napolitano sounds like a bushbot and is guilty of black & white thinking.
We need to work with other countries to combat terrorism, not continue to act as if any country that is not as paranoid as we are is a haven for terrorists. Canada is not Mexico. In fact Canada is much more civilized, sane and rational than we are, for the most part.

We need to get over the paranoia caused by a bunch of assholes with box cutters 8 years ago. If we really feel we need to do something, then we need to go after Richard Bruce Cheney. He is the one who issued the stand down order for the activities on 09/11/2001, that allowed 4 passenger planes to be off course for 2½ hours before anything was done by our air defenses.

8. What can you expect from a former federal prosecutor...
and she comes from Arizona, one of the most politically corrupt states in the union at about the same level as Louisiana and Illinois. There are more former governors of Arizona doing time or have done time in prison than Illinois or Louisiana.

2. Q & A
Q Did they make us less safe by not enforcing the borders equally before now?
A No.

100,000,000 Canada/US border crossings happen every year.

If there was ever any success at apprehending a potential terrorist you would have heard about it day and night for a month. That bogeyman would be dragged out at every debate on the topic, Napolitano would have defended herself with it right then and there.

America's concern is that BC Bud is making it across the border. Which wouldn't even be an issue if your federal government allowed states to regulate themselves regarding narcotics.

3. You know, Janet

Total Bushbot. Not unlike these absolute douchenozzles like Celluci, that Bush sent to be "ambasador" to Canada. Obama should replace her immediately. Too many things are too close to Bush policy. This is one of them

That border is a two-way street. You can thicken it all you want. Go ahead. Ruin relations with your largest trading partner all you like.

No hijackers came through Canada. Our Banks are some of the world's strongest, because we somehow resisted the almost overwhelming bullying of Wall street to deregulate. Moody's threatened our credit status, because we were too "socialist" and now it turns out that Moody's was part of the scamming themselves.

Canada has shown far greater responsibility than the US in many, many areas. I say, damn right. Thicken that border right up to keep us all safe up here.

Fuck you Napolitano.

4. Border Bud
tomm2thumbs has a great point about risk management, and Bush should have been on the job, however...
Duh, where were you other reply hoodies when the badman drove down to the Olympics with a car load of bombies?
Maybe ya should lay off the bud, dude and let the adults guard the playroom.

7. I'm starting to sense that now that the past administration has started attacking ie. Cheney -

that folks are going to re-visit the fact that Bush and Cheney were in office and forewarned about 9/11 well in advance of it happening, and Bush's vacationing and cavorting around doing diddly-squat leading up to September was a sign that he wasn't either prepared or thoughtful about being defender of our country's well-being.

A full nine months into his Presidency and on his watch, the country's two largest towers are felled and the Pentagon attacked with a direct hit. It's going to take a lot of back peddling by Cheney to say they kept us safe now that he seems to be wanting to judge just the first 2-3 months of Obama so wrecklessly.

Cheney is desperate to salvage his soul - but it was sold long ago.
