Kaufman stated:

The fifth thing that Republicans have to do is understand the problem of communicating in a world where much of the television media, particularly, is hostile...If I had to recommend one single thing that the Republicans should be doing to help articulate the message, it is to acquire another television network so that there is not just FOX, but multiple sources of alternative information that will do a much better job than we did in 2008 to keep things honest.

11. Shocking indeed
I'm shocked, shocked I tell you to learn that Fox News is owned by the Republican Party.
Does this mean that half lies / half truths is balanced? I'm so confused.

they should just get it out in the open like corporate sponsorship of ball parks or race cars.

This is the Fox news channels in house production of "Tax revolt 2009. where ignorant people who have seen their taxes go down support the overly rich in their quest to avoid paying 3% more in taxes!"

There would be no fucking "tax revolt for the ignorant" if it didn't get all this blatant promotion on Fox!

Finally, the propagandists admit they take second chair to reality!
So what's their strategy for the future. Double-down on falsehoods! Idiots.

12. So, what can we do about it?
Who's going to take this up only to be mostly ignored by MS press? If only One newspaper would devote their last dying breath to this and other reality-destroying RW 'accomplishments'- BIG HEADLINES- stories that read like a continuing narrative, then maybe people would read the paper again and save their atrophied butts.

Edited on Sun Apr-12-09 11:39 AM by Hulk
You can get limpballs on maybe four networks, vannity/bor/ingram/or worse on one or two...and religious wacko's on five or six. Radio is absolutely painted "nut-balls" in 75% of America. And then we wonder why people seem to have their heads up their asses???

This country has some real problems with truth and information dissemination. I'm not sure the "fairness doctrine" is the way to go...but something has to give. Too many are kept in the dark and shoveled this lunacy 24/7...and they have NO alternative, except maybe in the big cities...some!

15. I guess he means TV, because Murdock already HAS multiple venues to spew from.
He recently bought the WSJ, I think, And he owns Fox. And he owns Fox Radio (the Limpballs show airs on that, as do other "hate" shows).

That's a trifecta, I do believe.

Scary.

19. The New Millennium Melt Down.
If you think it’s just Fox, think again. Radio stations have been bought up to preach the Republican word. Within minutes of a Conservative talking points it is being rattled all over the country as news or fact. Propaganda is real, propaganda works until the curtain is pulled back for all to see why America is in such a mess.

The very few think all others are just on this earth to work and fill the bank accounts of those in charge. The Republicans and others have pulled off the largest scam in world history, this mess was not a accident it was premeditated to remove as much wealth as possible in 8 years, then walk away without any of the executers held accountable. Make the tax payers pay again blaming it all on the new administration.

Enron had ties to Bush and the Republicans, the S&L scandal and now the biggest one of all, The New Millennium Melt Down.

22. Yet another "stunning revalation"
Lately our culture has developed a remarkable ability to be "shocked" by the obvious.

First we "discovered" that athletes use anabolic steroids.

Meanwhile, Bush let us down when we "realized" he was incompetent (at best).

Then our collective jaws hit the floor when we "learned" Sarah Palin wasn't a policy wonk.

Then we "realized" that in the absence of any real regulation, bankers can very quickly become greedy opportunistic criminals.

In fact, we learned that these criminals are, in fact so unethical that they will pilfer millions of taxpayer dollars in order to give themselves bonuses, COMPLETELY DISREGARDING the formidable "honor system" of accountability.

And now this. Faux News is a RW propaganda outlet. Et tu Brute?

26. This makes me think of the challenges ahead for the internet
The internet created back pressure on TV. Imagine if only source of information was TV or Radio, and most stations were owned by same people with same agenda.

I believe the world needs to protect the free exchange, and indexing of information on the internet.

Hiding information by downgrading a search value of it, or removing it from lists of indexing, keeps people from seeing information. And that is the same reason people burn books.

Un-manipulated access of information and information indexing systems is a main component of people being free.

What if google, yahoo, ask, and every other search engine decided some thought or concept should not be discussed. Could they do the same misinformation fox does just by what information shows up on search pages?

What if main intersections (largest forums or community sites) censored or removed topics on some topics?

If someone was bold enough, they chould start a free source information indexing system, possibly even including a current major search engine company, then they would be able to advertise that there search results are never manipulated for any reason, and prove it with open access to algorithms, and open documents on what pages are chosen as original key pages.

If the person could create a search site, that just looks for information that is underrepresented. Basically finding and highlighting sites that have lower search value in current search engines, verses actual value based on some theoretical un-bias search method. That itself would be back pressure to any manipulation. Since as it proved that form of censorship, it would, if ever seen by anyone, become the more credible information indexing.

I did a few searches before the election and found ask.com, started by same guy that started Fox news, put pages on progressive issues further back on hits, and hits by fox news further up, when compared to google and yahoo.

30. MSNBC when if started was a right wing mouth peice too. Some got Keith in there and turned it around
180 degrees. The republicans must look back on those days with nostalgia. CNN when from quasi neutral to only valid far right. I'd like to know who turn CNN to the right. Is it just a reaction by the anchors and executives who are going to see their taxes go up a few percent.

Republican say the lost because they didn't cheat enough.

33. Damning Proof Yet Again Of Fox "News" Fraud
Edited on Mon Apr-13-09 08:26 AM by PRevere
This scheming, low-life right-wing hack has demonstrated, once again, what everybody knows - including the sickos and loonies of the "Radical Right"

Clearly, when Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes label their slimy product "News", they are committing Product Fraud against The American People.

We have seen over the past 15 years that allowing these immoral criminals to continue their unethical, illicit and obscene charade is just as, or more, damaging to our society and culture as allowing any other con-artists and snake oil peddlers to mislabel and poison products distributed to the unwary consumer.

The FCC is responsible for enforcing fraud when the purveyors of it use the cable and broadcast networks to spread it. And this includes Journalistic Malpractice.

Americans are entitled to product efficacy, purity and honesty in their news and information products. Indeed, the guarantee of this is essential to our entire democratic system.

When no-good right-wing criminal scum, like Ailes and Murdoch, are allowed to trample the truth and adulterate the flow of News with impunity, the entire human race is threatened.

Please contact the FCC, your local cable provider and the advertisers who empower these vermin.

Let them know you are fed up and not going to take it anymore.

Paul Revere

35. one angle...
I re-read that line and think it can be taken in more than one way.
"it is to acquire another television network so that there is not just FOX, but multiple sources of alternative information that will do a much better job than we did in 2008 to keep things honest."
Is he really saying Fox did a bad job of keeping things honest or that Fox did a bad job of keeping OTHERS honest? Sounds to me like he's lobbying support for a sister station who will help give Fox credibility as well as keep others honest.
Not sure its the big admission it appears, depending on how its read. And no, i'm not a Fox/repub/conserv supporter in any way, haha.
