3. My son was in Americorp

off doing hurricane clean up in the deep rural Gulf area.
He made friends among dyed in the wool cajun folk who saw past his dreadlocks
and realized this kid was working his ass off to clean up their
communities.
I met one of them at his Americorp completion ceremony, and it
brought tears to my eyes to find out what an impression these
young people had made on those communities. They said,
"We'd rather have 10 Americorp kids than 50 FEMA workers!"

He ended up doing a second hitch, came back with a maturity that
is making his mother and my head spin, as well as 10,000 bucks
for college, where he is now applying the discipline and
organizational skills that he learned.
This is a great program, and it breaks my heart to
hear this sleaze from Bachmann.

5. I work with Americorp volunteers at my internship

At the International Rescue Committee. They spend their days helping resettle people fleeing religious and political repression. They are highly committed and come from a plethorah of varying political backgrounds, including conservative backgrounds. Everytime this ignorant woman opens her mouth something stupid comes out. I feel sorry for her and people like her. Their hate and anger have destroyed their integrity.

This is what all these right-wing nut job shows and blogs are doing- they take the basic information, then say 'I THINK this will happen' which turns into 'this WILL happen', and by the end of the interview or post they have an established fact going that Obama is defintely going to do this or that or is already doing this or that and the sheeple believe it all as fact. Bachman took AmCorps from a voluntary service organization, to a compulsory one with all young people having to serve, to a "reeducation camp"! And that becomes the fact they all remember. All the blogs do it. And it is not an accident. This is a famous technique of propoganda. It has to be brought out in the open by every progressive talk show and blog. Obama is portrayed as a DICTATOR now on all the nutjob blogs (and I am reading them to see what is going on) for things he has never done nor proposed to do. Take a look at Plainsradio.com message forum- no password needed. It will open your eyes.

The scary thing is not that Bachman says this crap, but that she was reelected AFTER it was clear what she was.
