From the You Tube poster at Democracy for America:

Governor Howard Dean, M.D. launches grassroots healthcare reform campaign at http://standwithdrdean.com/ and draws a line in the sand over healthcare reform which must have a universally available public option, like Medicare, available for all Americans..

As a first step in the campaign, Dr. Dean asked supporters to add their name to a petition statement at http://standwithdrdean.com/

The text of the petition reads:

Give America a choice. We support healthcare reform that allows individual Americans to choose either a universally available public healthcare option like Medicare or for-profit private insurance. A public option is the only way to guarantee healthcare for all Americans and its inclusion is non-negotiable. Any legislation without the choice of a public option is only insurance reform and not the healthcare reform America needs.

Dr. Dean's announcement comes at time when insurance companies and HMO's have vowed to fight President Obama on his campaign promise to include a publicly available option in the healthcare reform he wants passed by Congress this year.

The campaign, which will be run by Governor Dean and Democracy For America, will generate broad based support for a public option through neighborhood canvasses, meetings with legislators, running ads in targeted districts, and more. Dr. Dean asked supporters to gather signatures and the organization expects to deliver over 250,000 signatures to members of Congress in the weeks to come.

Dean will officially announce this new move during a conference call at 9:00 tonight. You can sign up at www.democracyforamerica.com to be on the call.

supporting DFA is the best investment for anyones future. I support the President but I support the movement for single payer as the logical way forward.

2. That is the only group we are contributing to as of right now.
We even stopped that for a while as everyone we supported suddenly became a Blue Dog or New Dem.

But this is a most worthy cause.

13. This is why Dean can never be President
...or even have a place in the cabinet

he seems to be unwilling to go along with the corporate masters who pull the strings.
