1. I doubt AIG execs will kill themselves for
enriching each other via the conservative value of greed. But good to get the thought out there Senator.

4. The asshole Shuster left him skip over the point: Grassley definitely said
"they should either resign or go commit suicide".

6. A person would be very stupid to believe that he meant it literally.
This statement is similar to the one about killing the chicken to scare the monkey.

12. A person would be really stupid to make such an insensitive comment
...particularly since the current financial mess has led some people to commit suicide.

14. I don't agree. In Japan it is real people who really did commit suicide.
That's what Grassley was talking about. It is not a metaphor or "rhetoric" as he referred to his statement.

I am glad to see him spending his time defending this. I hope they increase the pressure.

7. Idiots like Grassley are at fault for the economy being in the tank.
If anyone needs to lay on a sword its Grassley. He's further proof that Republicans are unbalanced.

9. One of our home state Senators
And I do agree with him that the AIG execs should resign immediately. But saying they should kill themselves? No, that just isn't right. And wtf was Schuster doing at the end trying to play "gotcha" with Obama? At least Grassley didn't fall into that trap.

10. Turns out that a bunch of the guys that got bonuses have
already left AIG.

"The company insists the payouts are needed to keep talented executives on the payroll"

11. It is my understanding that Geithner agreed to the deal without
barring the bonuses. Assuming that to be true, Obama has essentially given Geithner a professional "challenge" not unlike the challenge that Grassley is giving to the AIG bonus recipients: either apologize big time and make the taxpayers whole or resign.

Obama's instruction to Geithner is a veiled invitation to get the money back or quit as Chairman of the Federal Reserve. That is what I theorize is going on here. I am guessing.

13. Considering what church he goes to, that was a poor choice of words.
My parents went to Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls, IA for a time. Then the musician director suddenly left and went missing, several days later he called his wife and told him he had attempted suicide (something about overdosing on a ton of pills) and the Church talked him out of it. Then that church kicked him out. Supposedly he's doing alot better, but for a Church that kicked a guy out because he attempted suicide, Chuck shoulda known better to throw that word around. Maybe PLC can kick him out???

here's their website, maybe yall can inquire about it. http://www.prairielakeschurch.org/

Needless to say, after that church did what they did to the Music director, they left that church.
