This isn't political, but it's really important for all women to be aware this deadly form of cancer is out there.

"Be informed! I never thought breast cancer would touch me until my mother got it. . . . this cancer is rare but very deadly. You won't find a lump with IBC."

I had already seen a similar video last year about this cancer, but it is amazing that doctors don't tell you about it.

2. Just lost a dear friend to IBC

Thanks for posting this important video.

One of my dearest friends just died from IBC which was not diagnosed even though she would have regular mammograms at one of the top hospitals in Chicago. We women must be our best health advocates.

I was lucky as my breast cancer was a ductal (aka lump) type. So I was fortunate that my surgery removed the cancer at an early stage.

My buddy wasn't as lucky.

Please let other women know about IBC. I do not want more people to loose their very best friend of 40 years.

I was lucky, too, so this info came as a surprise to me. I had heard of this fleetingly but never watched the video before.

Awareness will help women if there are so many outward physical symptoms that can be identified.

8. my sister...and molly ivins also lost to IBC

my sister was diagnosed 1/5/06 and died 3/1/06. it was the most horrific and painful experience of my life to watch that beast kill my sister in just two months :cry:

i also had early stage IDC 12/07, and i am fine now.

it's IS horrible. by the time my sister was diagnosed, the cancer had already spread to her spine, brain, and liver. in just two months, she lost the use of her legs, then her arms, and by the time she died, she couldn't move her head. she was 45 years old, and her youngest child was still in high school. :cry: it's been three years and it's still horrific. my sister was initially misdiagnosed with mastitis (common with IBC), so valuable time was lost while the doctors dicked around.

something very important about IBC: women diagnosed with IBC should see an IBC specialist. my sister was at a community hospital 45 minutes outside los angeles, and they were not equipped to treat her...even though the arrogant doctors said they were. if you ever know of anyone who is diagnosed with IBC, INSIST that she goes to a comprehensive cancer treatment center with an IBC specialist IMMEDIATELY. there is NO TIME to waste with IBC.

it's rare and extremely deadly...my sister didn't survive it. thanks for posting this...more people need to know about it.
