I hold Turd in UTTER contempt!

He doesn't merit the other half of the moniker Chimpolini hung on him; the blossom has long since departed this turd.

I immediately turned the channel when I saw Rove on the TV this morning just like when I hear Limbaugh spouting his lies on someones radio. By watching him and giving the station and him relevance you are supporting the proliferation of his filth... Just say no!!! and Limbaugh, Rove and the rest of them will become irrelevant and wallow in their own hatred of themselves.

When Rove mangles his words and talks over other people, it's a sign he knows he's lost. I wish they didn't have him one any way. He makes so many false statements that nobody has time to rebut them all. I loved it when Vanden Heuvel said she had been to Cantor's website. I knew when he admonished her for not going there that he was in trouble.

9. Rove is once again rewriting history to suit his agenda. And George Will declaring that
the Republicans had eight years and Obama will have the next four years to show whose approach works. Excuse me, George, but we ALREADY know that the Repbublican approach DOES NOT WORK.

I am amazed that Katrina was as restrained in her responses to Rove as she was.

She is one smart woman and an excellent debater. Loved it when Rove said she probably had not even looked at Cantor's website and she said "Yes, I have." We need more advocates like her.

P.S. Who was the other man who was advocating for Obama?

31. Stan Greenberg
Stanley Bernard Greenberg (born May 10, 1945) is a leading Democratic pollster and political strategist who has advised the campaigns of the Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and John Kerry, as well as hundreds of other candidates and organizations in the United States and around the world, including British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

A political scientist who received his Bachelor's Degree from Miami University and his Ph.D. from Harvard, Greenberg spent a decade teaching at Yale University before becoming a political consultant. His 1985 study of Reagan Democrats in Macomb County, Michigan became a classic of progressive political strategy, and the basis for his continuing argument that Democrats must actively work to present themselves as populists advocating the expansion of opportunity for the middle class. As the pollster for Clinton in 1992, Greenberg was a major figure in the famed campaign "war room" (and hence the documentary film of the same name).

He is the founder and CEO of Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, a polling and consulting firm, and co-founder, with James Carville and Bob Shrum, of Democracy Corps, a non-profit organization which produces left-leaning political strategy. He is married to current Rep. Rosa DeLauro, representative from the Third District from Connecticut.

Greenberg's corporate clients include British Petroleum, British Airways, Monsanto and General Motors. <1>

43. We keep refusing to make the most important point
This bullcrap about Obama creating the deficit has to be challenged. What Obama did is produce the first HONEST budget in 30 years -- shining the light of day on trillions of dollars of formerly off-budget programs.

He isn't increasing the deficit. He is just being HONEST about what has been going on.

The first step toward recovery is to admit you have a problem, and that's where we are. Step 1 of a 12-step program.

but if the economy does recover in a huge way. You know, unemployment falls to 3% or something and oil remains at below $45 a barrel, The Reich Wing will still characterize it as a failure. Why? Because everything in their world is measured by how much they pay in taxes.

3 or 4 years ago she was not aggressive enough as a TV pundit. Her voice was a little too soft spoken, and she had difficulty wedging her voice in. I read The Nation religeously every week and knew how smart and well informed she is.
But them n4 years of pure anger are good for making one raise one's voice. The Dems have come far with "framing " too.

I did it with Jerome Corsi appearing on Coast to Coast. I recruited others to write letters, too. I know they received quite a few of them because George Noory commented on it. He said Corsi would continue to appear but he hasn't been on lately.

Of course, they'll let the outrage over the fact that the scumbag wrote a lie book about Obama during the campaign die, but at least the jerk got his hand slapped.

panel was disgust, and I still am sending an e-mail to ABC to protest. However, Katrina did indeded hand him his head, which was terrific. Maybe there is something to say for bringing these slugs into the light of the camera, as long as people like her are allowed to shoot them down like the lying vermin they are. A criminal court would be best, but I found something therapeutive about seeing the dressing down he received. They have been shielded for too long. 35. She made Rove show his hand, and he had nothing
Of course Rove tried the usual Republican talk show tactic--talk louder and longer
than anyone who might disagree. But Katrina knows all the moves. She graduated
summa cum laude from Princeton, and Rove has a doctorate in snake oil salesmanship.

I'd say the degree of education of both of them showed.

I had the pleasure of having a long lunch with Katrina in January while visiting
New York. She's every bit as sharp and every bit as knowledgeable as she is on TV.
I was blown away to say the least, and not many people do that to me. She is also a
very nice person, as long as you don't act like an asshole (that's you, Mr. Rove).

40. I saw this live this AM...a heads-up from The Nation...
in fact Katrina even asked for input on how to deal w/Rove.

She was excellent. She cut him off, took down the RW spin from the Rovian machine, she handled herself brilliantly, and the "Mr. Rove" remark was absolutely brilliant. She went into his territory, ripped him to shreds and did it with her usual brilliance and tact.

What was needed was more time...Rove was on the ropes, and she could have finished him off w/another 2-3 minutes.

FWIW: my suggestion was that he would try to "change" the subject, which he did, she held her ground, which was my suggestion, and she beat him senseless.

The GOP..."no ideas....no shame"...I love this woman...:loveya:

56. There were a LOT of replies to her request, some of them quite
lengthy.

Mine was quick and to the point...basically, don't let him "talk" over you and change the subject. She was brilliant, and Rove didn't even pick up the rueful scorn she showed to him. To me, it was obvious she detests the man, and her eyes spoke volumes.

Katrina is a force to be reckoned with. When she spoke after Michelle Bachman a while back, it was the only time I ever saw her "lose" it, I think she actually vomited.

In any case...Rove was bested, it was there for all to see, and now he can crawl back into the swamp and seek a soul.

The look on his face said it all. He had no answers and he knew it. The whole exchange between him, Vanden Heuvel and the man sitting opposite (sorry, didn't catch his name) was the biggest indictment yet of the entire Bush regime.

I especially liked the way the camera trained on his face as Vanden Heuvel continued to kick his sorry fat ass.

It will work. These things have all been ignored for a long time (Clinton included). "The market" doesn't build roads or develop drugs or do the initial not-profit portion of things they just let the public pay for it then hand it off to them.

That's why rural America was behind the rest of the country in getting electricity, telephone and other utilities. There wasn't enough population density to make it worth the private sector's money to bring these services to rural America. It took FDR's public works programs to bring that to the country. The markets weren't going to do it any time soon. And guess what? The country is better for it.

NO, No No.

Karl Rove owned the debate, not KVH. Rove talked four times longer. He was smooth and told lies really well. He was seldom confronted.

I liked what KVH had to say and it was refreshing to hear Rove confronted a few times with a strong dissent; but KVH did NOT run the show.

It does NOT help us to claim otherwise. We still have a lot of work to do. So does KVH.

101. It depends...
We've all heard, "It's not what you say, it's how you say it", and unfortunately it's true. Although Carl was smooth, so was OJ and we all knew he was guilty of something. If you listen to the words; to what they are saying; Katrina did in fact "own" the debate. You said yourself, "He was smooth and told lies really well" (but you still knew they were lies). I agree with you though it's no reason to feel complacent; progress was never handed to anyone, it's something we have to work at.

Katrina was absolutely devastating. And Rove knew it.

Just because he was loud and rude, talked the most, interrupted and tryed to talk over, doesn't mean he "owned" the debate.

Katrina let him run out of steam, and then quietly, politely, clearly punched holes clean through him.

He wasn't smooth at all, once she started twisting his nuts. What do you think all his stammering and bluster were about?

She absolutely creamed him, and he knows it.

108. You must have missed most of the discussion...
as well as the nuances.

The "Mr. Rove" from KVH showed she owned him from the start of the discussion. She refused to allow Rove to talk over her, her facts were straight up and her eyes spoke volumes.

Rove's body language spoke volumes as well. Deer in the headlights look, the "power-play" leaning...then the "srrogance" and finally, the sit back, "oh-shit" moment.

KVH is a brilliant woman, she does not dance into the ball; she goes in after reviewing all she can, she has her facts in order, she ate him alive when she said she had read the report, in fact, that became the "oh-shit" moment. Rove held up a stack of most likely blank papers, KVH already had the documnet in her head. She was well prepared.

She is an astounding woman...if given 2-3 more minutes, KVH would have had Rove's eviscerated body soiling the floor.

Edited on Mon Mar-02-09 02:17 PM by NYC Liberal
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/01/09/60minutes/main592330.shtml

And what happened at President Bush's very first National Security Council meeting is one of O'Neill's most startling revelations.

“From the very beginning, there was a conviction, that Saddam Hussein was a bad person and that he needed to go,” says O’Neill, who adds that going after Saddam was topic "A" 10 days after the inauguration - eight months before Sept. 11.

“From the very first instance, it was about Iraq. It was about what we can do to change this regime,” says Suskind. “Day one, these things were laid and sealed.”

As treasury secretary, O'Neill was a permanent member of the National Security Council. He says in the book he was surprised at the meeting that questions such as "Why Saddam?" and "Why now?" were never asked.

"It was all about finding a way to do it. That was the tone of it. The president saying ‘Go find me a way to do this,’" says O’Neill. “For me, the notion of pre-emption, that the U.S. has the unilateral right to do whatever we decide to do, is a really huge leap.”

And that came up at this first meeting, says O’Neill, who adds that the discussion of Iraq continued at the next National Security Council meeting two days later.

126. My problem with Rove is not that he's stupid, it's that he doesn't care about right and wrong.
He's smart enough to know his party and the man he made President wrecked the economy. He knows that the Bush years proved the core policies of the Republican party are fundamentally unsound. He knows that. But he doesn't care. He just wants to try to score debating points. He just wants to sound clever and does not care about finding the truth. He is great salesman and a despicable human being.
