CPAC: If You Don't Have a Gun, You Have Nothing
The NRA's Wayne LaPierre tells the CPAC audience that the 2nd Amendment is the foundation of all of our freedoms and that all rights and freedoms are nothing but "stains on a rotten piece of parchment paper in a museum somewhere" until they are "guarded by the blued steel and dry powder of a free and armed people."

He also proclaims that he knows it is not politically correct to say so, but he doesn't care "if their butts pucker from here to the Potomac, the Founding Fathers understood that the guys with the guns make the rules":

1. Did Wayne LaPierre just call the constitution "a rotten piece of parchment paper "
"in a museum somewhere"? And they call us anti-American?

2. No new ideas I see. So the bankers' bonuses are based on their guns?
They steal all the wealth becuase they are the ones with the guns?

3. Let me think on this.
Without cause, without reason, this guy is advocating violence, and 'might makes right' at the end of a mob with loaded weapons.

Furthermore, this guy doesn't even know what a gun is, and for his sake I hope he never learns what one is. Guns used against fellow countrymen are not things to rally a crowd with, they kill and maim, they rip the heart out of families and friends both in front and from behind the gun. To make such a statement is not only ignorant and irresponsible, it is without basic dignity nor understanding of humanity.

Go through the measures of society set for grievances, if you can show right to revolution make your argument. If your argument is just 'more guns', this man is in a place I would not want to be. I chose not to live in his world, it is not a future I would wish to reap.

I do however support the second amendment, I just do not put my 'freedom' in the same hands as he says he does.

If the ones with the guns win, explain to me the loss of british colonies, explain to me Vietnam, explain to me the many other wars where the men with the most guns failed.

5. Clinically psychotic.
If the founding fathers could see the proliferation of guns in American society today -- and ownership and use of guns advocated by such madmen -- they'd be rewriting the Second Amendment in heartbeat, desperately hoping to avoid just such a situation.

6. No need to re-write.....
the repugs and libertarians are always spouting strict adherence to the constitution, they should keep in mind what the words "Well Regulated" means
well 2 (wl)
adv. bet·ter (btr), best (bst)
1. In a good or proper manner: behaved well.
2. Skillfully or proficiently: dances well.
3. Satisfactorily or sufficiently: slept well.
4. Successfully or effectively: gets along well with people.
5. In a comfortable or affluent manner: lived well.
6. In a manner affording benefit or gain; advantageously: married well.
7. With reason or propriety; reasonably: can't very well say no.
8. In all likelihood; indeed: You may well need your umbrella.
9. In a prudent or sensible manner: You would do well to say nothing more.
10. In a close or familiar manner: knew them well.
11. In a favorable or approving manner: spoke well of them.
12. Thoroughly; completely: well cooked; cooked well.
13. Perfectly; clearly: I well understand your intentions.
14. To a suitable or appropriate degree: This product will answer your needs equally well.
15. To a considerable extent or degree: well over the estimate.
16. With care or attention: listened well.
17. Entirely; fully: well worth seeing

reg·u·late (rgy-lt)
tr.v. reg·u·lat·ed, reg·u·lat·ing, reg·u·lates
1. To control or direct according to rule, principle, or law.
2. To adjust to a particular specification or requirement: regulate temperature.
3. To adjust (a mechanism) for accurate and proper functioning.
4. To put or maintain in order: regulate one's eating habits

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Seems pretty simple. It is to insure state rights not mobs.

but these are the same guys who profess to follow the teachings of a peaceful and non-violent leader, while advocating the destruction of their fellow man.

19. Well, now, I agree with you that "militia" is a very important word . . .
While the gun enthusiasts maintain that the key passage is "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

The language unfortunately allows for a variety of competing interpretations. Hence my wish for a rewrite.

8. Its so obvious these idiots don't know anything about
History! As far as I know, the british had the guns, but Ghandi won. So did Martin Luther King Jr.
It just demonstrates the wisdom of the saying "It is better to appear a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

9. I think this type of stuff incites violence.
The problem isn't that it's politically correct. The problem is it's irresponsible language.

13. Utterly delusional
His premise is that they're going to fight big government with the shotguns and .22s in their basements. RKBA is meaningless as a check on the government in the modern world. The military-industrial complex can mobilize completely overwhelming force. They wouldn't stand a chance.

15. Totally agree for entirely different reasons.
Your Democratic masters are shining you on if you accept guns as evil. It's only the intent that is and I for one, being a proud Liberal , am not giving up my weapon precisely for the reason of not giving people THAT asshole a right to impose his beliefs on me. Every able man in Switzerland is part of their armed forces and is required to keep a rifle in his house and when's the last time they were conquered? Nuff said. Some of DFH's learned our lesson from the sixties. Two can play this game.

18. Yeah....keep those guns flowing.....especially those "sporty automatics"....
Ninety percent of the guns owned by the drug cartels south of the border are supplied by this loose nut house up north, where idiots can go buy automatic weapons and sell them to be transported south to continue the killing and drug business. What a f*cking sad story.

NOBODY needs or should have access to an automatic weapon. NOBODY!! If you need a rifle for hunting, a pistol for protection (in your head mostly)...then so be it. But you get into some of these assault rifles and machine guns that are on the market...you have jumped way of the line of sanity.

It's what this nation does....produce weapons of destruction and exports them around the world for profit. It's probably one of our LARGEST exports to the world. WTG USA. Proud to be an American.

Land of lunatics and crazies. I hope someday someone has enough balls to take these bastards on. The NRA is nothing more than a front of no brainers for the gun industry. Pawns.
