About 150 rallied in Denver on Wednesday, May 3rd to encourage Congress to stand firm with the White House. Their funding of the troops must continue to require that the troops start coming home. MoveOn helped organize the rally along with other organizations.

I support John Edwards for President!

8. Agree! We do matter!
And the blogocracy can make sure we are accounted for! I am so grateful for this method of reaching each other. We became dependent on MSM to communicate for us, but I think we have learned our lesson. No more delegation of our duty to be involved and shrugging our shoulders. We're finding our "inner" leaders.

7. Hopefully, Bush and Congress noticed
that this is what democracy looks like! That was a good chant, we enjoyed saying it. That could have been the title of the video if the subject of the demonstration had been any less serious.

I am hoping that the desire to reclaim our democracy will result in a record turnout in the 08 elections!

2. We the People in the USA
And in Colorado, which is blue...

We need Congress to stand strong and send the bill back to fund the Troops, not send a blank check on behalf of Halliburton.

9. It is so great to be able to say
Colorado is blue! No one would have thought it four years ago, but there were good indications in 04. Last summer, lots of people here were shocked to realize what was happening. I am still in a red CD (Tancredo is my rep, said with a roll of the eyes), but a blue STATE! Dem governor, state legislature, one senator and a majority of the Congressional representatives.

I think John Edwards is right on the funding bill--keep sending it back. Bush has exceeded his authority in Iraq and Congress has the Constitutional right as well as a voter mandate to tell him the funding is contingent on starting to bring the troops home.

10. Thanks, dk2!
I love sharing these events, both mine and the CJ vlogs that others post. I am working on another one from the SC debate, showing how exciting it can be going to an event like that to support a candidate. In my case, of course, that candidate is John Edwards!

6. Maybe next time--and no doubt there will be a next time.
This one was hard for people to make after work--5 pm is early for lots of people unless they work right downtown. Also, because it was an emergency, there wasn't much notice.

I'm sure that the next time Congress sends the bill to the White House (and I hope it is the same bill), there will be more rallies across the country.

Thanks for the welcome!
