1. He needs to retire...
I watch a lot of C-SPAN. His 'lucid' moments seem to be declining recently. The other day during a hearing he was babbling out loud during his question of a witness that he had a benign tumor. Then he started babbling about how that comment should be off the record, but of course its on the record, but really off the record, but with the cameras there is a record, but its off the record... Snore.....

Does his staff basically tell him how to vote?

3. I dont disagree that he is correct...
I mostly agree with the message. I'm concerned that Oct '07 gives Bush a date certain to wait out Congress. And in Oct '07, Congress will pass the resolution again, wanting to 'support the troops', and then the Dems will 'own' this war.

6. Thank you for this video.
Hillary is getting credit for this.

It was Sen. Byrd that introduced it.

The man will be ninety years old in November; I'd say he's doing okay; West Virginia will keep electing him until he dies which will probably be on the senate floor.
Hey, at least he not shitting himself like old Strom Trurman did.:kick:

9. Recently, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Senator Byrd
We talked for about 15 minutes. Yes, he trembles. Yes, he is old. But, his mind is as sharp as any other Senator. He is in complete control of his faculties and believes passionately that the war must end very soon. I salute Senator Byrd.
