These two know what's going to happen, as do we all - the Republicans will turn this bill into absolute crap, and then they won't vote for it anyway. Screw them.

2. Sirota has a strong argument and one I believe to be true.

The Republicans are all about "proving" that "government doesn't work" by making SURE it doesn't work, through funding cuts or just underfunding in the first place.

The Dems in Congress should say to the Repubs "I've got two words for you: President Obama."

3. Its sad, but it must be war!

The Republicans are a mixed bag.

Some will throw their lot in if they know they have a tough re election in 2010.

Others who know they will win re election in 2010 will have no intention of doing anything but obstruting everything in hopes that the public will get pissed off and vote them back in when it seems like "The Democrats can't do anything!"

Its hard to reach across the aisle to a group of people who want to cut your hand off.

Like I said in a previous post, from a prayer meeting held in a NJ church, a church elder who is a die hard GOP said "Just wait till 2010, God will give us back a Republican government!"
