However, in many ways, this statement would have much more meaning if it had come from most of the Christian or Jewish members of the House(Kucinich and the handful of other righteous members excluded) instead of from the only Muslim member of congress.
But compared to the Senate, the House is the only outspoken chamber on Gaza. I am utterly ashamed of my senators (I am from NY, Schumer and Clinton) who both have their heads up Israel's ass, especially our soon to be Sec of State. Since when did being Jewish become a requirement for supporting Israel (enter Sen Schumer) who I saw along with my governor no less, on a video at a recent pro Israel (the "right wing" kind complete with Jewish religious fanatics who believe that the Palestinians will be wiped out by god) terror rally in NYC. I will never understand why Democratic, supposedly liberal politicians would support a right wing government and religious fanatics that are currently running Israel. Religious loyalty over national loyalty I suppose.
I Know I am going on a bit of a tirade but one more thing I want to add... The wacko Jews believe that Jehovah will wipe out the Muslims and give them the whole promised land...the wacko Muslims believe that Allah will wipe out the infidel Jews from their promised land...and the wacko Christians believe that God will wipe out both the Jews and the Muslims from the promised land of the true believers aka Christians... In the meantime, sane logical atheists and agnostics like myself must watch from the sidelines and see who wipes out each other first.
