5. I agree
Fantastic interview. I like how Rachel laughs, lol. It seemed like she really looked up to him too. Thanks for watching it.

2. K&R! This was terrific!
This is the best solution to Obama's Rick Warren problem, other than rescinding the invitation, of course. Thought of Gene Robinson immediately when Warren was announced. It doesn't make up for the choice of Warren, but it sure helps even things out and makes a powerful and welcome statement... :applause:

Also, Rachel made a funny...

6. It is a powerful statement
It helps with the Warren thing. I can't say I agree with Obama with the Warren decision,I see why he did it, but I was extremely disappointed. On the flip side, it's great to see Bishop Robinson get his just due as well.

And that was a good joke. :)

8. I was willing to bet that he wouldn't rescind the Warren invitation.
Maybe he's trying to rehabilitate the guy, who knows?

But I do think that including Bishop Robinson is the next best thing. And I thought of that Gene Robinson first, too...

10. Rachel must have gotten something wrong
She said that Obama made a decision with Warren. But we've been told over and over and over and over and (well, you get the point) that Obama hasn't made any decisions EVER IN HIS ENTIRE LIFE, HE'S NOT PRESIDENT YET AND WILL YOU PLEASE LEAVE BRITTNEY ALONE!!111!!! Whoops, sorry there.

At any rate, it's obvious that Obama hasn't made any decisions. He hasn't picked anyone for his cabinet. He has never, ever, made any statement whatsoever about what he believes about LGBT people (but DADT repeal is now delayed at least 2 years). Nope, no policy there. DADT isn't a policy. And besides, he picked 2 LGBT people for his administration, and since LGBT people are only roughly 10% of the population, you couldn't ever assume that someone that is LGBT would be the top of their field in more than those 2 positions.

I just want to apologize to all the oppressed straight people who might get offended by Rachel saying that one of them made a decision.

Thanks.

11. Regarding the 1996 Questionnaire in which Obama supported
same sex marriage.... has anyone noted the fact that Obama went on to LOSE that next election? I think it demonstrated that even someone as charismatic and articulate as Obama couldn't get elected while being open about that view. I think his opinion on that questionnaire shows very clearly what Obama's real views are regarding the matter (it would be odd for someone to regress on such an issue).

12. Didn't he lose to Bobby Rush after that?
Edited on Thu Jan-15-09 02:41 PM by Wetzelbill
That would have been a tough win regardless of his position on this particular issue.

Bush was pro-choice when he ran for congress in like 1978. He never made that mistake again. He's pandered to the extreme of that issue as governor of Texas and president the last 8 years.
