4. he kept Vilsack
after tens of thousands of phone calls and petitions. Don't get your hopes up. I seem to remember Rick Warren still has a slot at the inauguration.

3. I think Hayes really hits the nail on the head
it is about the left being shut out-regardless of the fact that those on the left have been more correct about the issues. And it is also about the failure of the "old ways" but the embracing of Obama of "old DC establishment" that has everyone frustrated. How can we hope for change WITHOUT change?

6. You said it
One after another disappointing appointment. I remember that Moore exchange well. You have to ask why Gupta even went after Sicko with inflammatory and false allegations in the first place. He is a PharmaStooge of the highest order. And when they talk about his post being largely symbolic I don't think that is entirely true. When the legislation debate starts, he will have a large stage, and a high platform with which to lobby for the big pharmaceutical companies objections to a single payer system.

8. Obama will keep him and he will be placed..
His is Indian American, high profile and an "easy" fit with these "qualifications". That being said, I find it unbelievably strange how Obama seems to be following Bush's footsteps in excluding and alienating the left. How does this "Big Tent" thing work anyway? Are progressives suppose to be taking tickets at the entrance, while standing outside?
