Circa 1986 off a beta tape ... I lumped the first two parts I have into one (only parts I have.) While Gore and Easton (who mostly appear in the 2nd part which is close to 5 mintues in) don't actually debate each other the segment does contrasts their statements back and forth.

1. Oh, Sugar Walls...
I was a kid at the time, but I must admit Tipper REALLY pissed me off badly with that whole PMRC thing because I was hugely into music as I am today. Thanks for the video... I'll definitely be watching it. :)

Thanks for the upload! I wish you had the Apollonia part, but hey... maybe someone else has it somewhere? :D

3. Al Gore
At least the PMRC hearings established once and for all that Al Gore is a fan of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention! Al mentioned this before he started questioning Zappa when Frank was testifying. Frank took on all these guys on their own turf by their own rules with ABSOLUTE FEARLESSNESS.

Frank Zappa has been my hero ever since the Oct 17, 1971 Stony Brook Mothers late show.

5. Frank was awesome during that whole PMRC debacle.
Among other shows, I watched an episode of Crossfire on which he appeared. It should be on Youtube and you've probably seen it already. He kicked ass though. :)

6. More Zappa
He was asked by the Libertarian Party to be their choice for Presidential nominee. He read their platform and politely declined.

He did SERIOUSLY CONSIDER running for President on his own for 1992. Unfortunately, this was during the time his misdiagnosed prostate cancer was percolating.

About running, he said; "Not only would I win, but I'd be good at the job." He was so into it he would have quit music to devote all his energies to the job.

The loss for America is something we can only dream about.
