1. US withdraw all financial support for Israel and then let's see what happens.
Bring the region to equilibrium.

8. I agree with you. And Dershowitz's position is so
entrenched and rigid in his us-versus-(the evil)them, I am not surprised that they cannot come to a cease-fire accord.

It is shameful that they are killing innocent people after blocking their borders, leaving no escape. Fish in a barrel.

most likely going to side with it than somebody else's. That what you meant?

Also, my mother-in-law is the past master at the passive agressive remark-I can spot it a mile away.

15. Hmmmm
Talk about aggresive....

Funny how we push for free elections in the middle East. Well they voted but becasue "we" don't like it they get a blockade and a freezing of $$$ to them. Hamas is wrong for the rockets yet Israel is to blame also. One cannot take anothers land, bulldoze houses and then confine a people in a small area with very little food, very little medical supplies and no hope and not expect blowback. You would think the Israeli of all people would know this.

16. Not really...

The reality is that the current Gaza problem is what stems from rounding up a people, keep them in a small area, give them no rights, block access to basic things like food, water and medical care. Then you claim that you have the right to indiscriminately kill the inhabitants of they area when they resist.

I could see the Israeli side of this equation if the Palestinians in Gaza had the ability to leave their 10 by 25 mile chunk of land, but they can't. They are prisoners, except prisoners get better treatment. When Dershowitz kept using the question of what would you do "now" he kept refusing to consider the cause of why those attacks happen. He did the typical lawyer thing, which is to ask for a yes or no answer without context. When Zogby gave context, Dershowitz simply waved his hand and wanted an answer.

I'll actually knowingly Godwin the thread by pointing out that this is fairly similar to what happened to Jews in Poland, they were isolated into an area, they had their rights stripped, and when they resisted they were killed. The only difference here is that there is a history of established conflict, that unfortunately, both sides have contributed to.
