Isn't this sweet? Nice of him to help his buddy Obama out by keeping his mouth shut between now and the Inauguration.

Get used to it, kids - it's going to be a month-long gaybash, courtesy of our President-Elect.

2. I want all religion out of my government!
This is bullshit. This is a slap in the face to a lot of people, not just gay people. All Atheist's, Agnostics; Buddhists, Jews, etc. This inauguration belongs to the people, and not just one faction.

22. I have to agree
I want all religion out of my government!

Well said. Religion out of politics, in addition to being consistent with what the framers of our country designed, is just good for everyone.

WTF, this guy is no intellect, nor religious leader,
he's an ignorant bigot.

OK I'm convinced. Obama should withdraw his invitation to let this
fool participate in the inauguration.

24. I am told that "A Purpose Driven Life" doesn't actually contain Bible passages
I haven't read it and won't. You nailed it. This guy is taking the easy road of not quoting chapter and verse AND presenting himself as an alternative to the chapter/verse crowd when in fact he is a total fraud.

Seriously, tell me if he doesn't trip the needle ;-) to full peg?

29. Pegged. Too many levels of insanity.... starting with...
Christianity is a personal religion. A person individually holds the beliefs (based on faith).
The beliefs are directed to the person's individual conduct.
That is just too fundamental for dispute.

So when it appears, as here, a minister has lost that basic foundation, I feel somewhat
obliged to suggest that he might be embarked on a field trip of his own.

We might also remember that however "righteous" someone may "actually" be our society
nonetheless imprisons people who are deemed so crazy that they constitute a danger to
themselves or to others.

5. Delayed gratification
That's the whole basis for organized religion; delay gratification until the afterlife, and by coincidence, I'm the only one qualified to tell you what that afterlife is.

6. This guy is spreading total BS. I hereby call him out as a LIAR
He says he has "Many Gay Friends" - I'm quite sure that is BS
He says his many gay friends tell him "why can't I have as many secual partners as I want because it's natural" - again, fabricated BS to justify his hatred.

I am beginning to think that our good Rev. Warren may be personally "struggling" with homosexual tendencies. We have seen this attitude before, this guy is a clone of Ted Haggard.

8. what's so bizarre about it...
He spreads this story about multiple partners, but doesn't he think that oooooh, something like marriage would encourage fidelity and such? Curry should have asked him about this contradiction.

9. He probably thinks of it, but so what? It's a made up story anyway
a custom designed, wholly fabricated "experience" that justifies his message of hate. Warren is no "Preacher", he's just a businessman whose business is selling snake oil to the feeble minded. The only mana from Heaven he seeks is the kind that has pictures of presidents on it. The closest he gets to "God" are the words "In God We Trust" on the money he swindles from unsuspecting followers. I would not be surprised in the least to see him tied to an illicit gay sex scandal exposed sometime in the future. He fits that profile.

10. Inauguration is celebrating Civil Rights and Bigotry?
The Tuskegee Airmen are being honored and celebrated on inauguration day as part of a Civil Rights theme, right?

Our PE does not see the hypocrisy of celebrating Civil Rights and at the same time honoring a leading religious bigot.

Strangely he threw his 20 year RETIRED pastor friend under the bus when the RW'ers attacked. Quit the church too? I predict under pressure from the Progressive community he will see no need to back down. I do not consider the exercise of pressure to be futile though. It will have consequences.

Maybe this is a silly question, but are any of the Tuskegee Airmen gay?

13. He is using a STRAWMAN argument
What does promiscuity have to do with being gay. If anything, his logic should lead toward no premarital gay sex.

Anyone else feel uncomfortable when this guy talked about having sex with every beautiful woman?

I ABSOLUTELY FREAKING guarantee this one has skeletons in the closet. Maybe he has already admitted. I don't want or need to know.

16. Yes, I felt uncomfortable.
The director noticed it, too, as he cut immediately to the face of the (very beautiful) interviewer.

Rick Warren is slime, and has no business at the inauguration. And, yes, I've emailed Barack, telling him I consider the inclusion of Warren in the inaugural festivities insulting and offensive. I didn't think to compare the situation to including a KKK or new-Nazi spokesman-- who wants to do the honors?

I loves me some Barack, but he needs his consciousness raised.

Hey shitbag, what if I don't subscribe to your moral code? What fucking business is it of yours whether I have pre-marital sex, or a different partner every day, or no gender preference? How does 'promiscuity' figure into this debate? Who cares?

Why people care what goes on in the bedrooms and love lives of other consenting adults is beyond my meager comprehension. How dare people fulfull their hopes, desires, ambitions, love and be happy.

But I don’t, I go to bed every night with the woman I am committed to and have been for the last 19 years without a marriage licence or “church wedding” promiscuous my horse’s ASS.

I get the funny feeling good ole Rick can’t say that.

If Obama lets this guy get up and speak for him, he just doesn’t get it.

I’m starting to think I want my money back.

Obama shouldn't either. Remember the phony Saddleback "forum" with the "cone of silence" and Warren's coin flip that never happened?

The guy set Obama up and was caught in a huge lie. Now Obama wants to repay him by giving him credibility?

As much as I support Obama, giving credibility to a lying, conniving, bigoted Falwellian freak like Warren makes no sense.
