1. "I don't look at white people the same. Not everyone, but around here..."
Who could blame that young man for saying that. Those white people, the ones in the video boasting about shooting people indiscriminately in the name of protecting their neighborhood, those white people are the trash of the earth. They are a prime example of what "stupid" really means. They've got a disease, a mental retardation that destroys culture, civility, and everything that is good in humanity. At this point, they're only good for compost.

3. Our elected officials understood that by taking the rescue
plans out of NOLA that the effects of the devastation would be long lasting. To restore this community this video should be shown and community discussions and charges brought against those found to have participated in this terrorism.

7. So do the elected officials plan to do anything about this?
From what I saw on Democracy Now! it looks as though there hasn't been so much as a police investigation and judging by the way those people were bragging about shooting black men it doesn't look as though they are concerned that any charges will come from it.

Regards

5. That is the most depressing thing
I have seen in a long, long time. To automatically assume someone is somehow an enemy just by the sight of their skin... Sickening.

8. K&R for must see journalism.
This is the kind of thing that thoughtful and compassionate people need to see in this country. We need to understand the extent of the problem of racism. Many think that racism doesn't persist, but here is a real document of its nasty and brutal reality.

11. America was founded as a Penal Colony by the British so they could
Export their criminals. Most were settled in the South. After they lost The American colonies they sent their criminals to Australia.
The founders were good solid Slave owning people, The expression "we the people" only applied to the people who owned land, since they were the only ones with a real interest in the country. It certainly was not talking about the ordinary man in the street.
Therefore, they setup the Electoral College to select the President despite whoever the "people" chose.
The early Americans were very cruel people sort of like the Spanish Conquistador's and thought nothing of genocide against the 10 million Native Americans by giving out pox infected blankets as gifts.
America has continued to this day being the cruelest country in the world. The country is run by a ruling Aristocracy and always has been. Most of the founding families came from wealth and greed. George Washington's family came from Washington Hall in the North of England and they had a large estate there. He married for money and was the largest whiskey distiller in the Americas. He only accepted the command of the Army in exchange for becoming President should he prevail otherwise he told the revolutionaries to stuff it. There were many tens of thousands of "indentured servants" in the Americas (basically white slaves) and of course black slaves too. The emancipation proclamation freed them (sort of) from blatant bondage. But only until the ruling elite could find a way to put them right back into "indebted servitude" from which of the USA population suffers right now. We have never had a revolution like many counties in Europe to cast down the Aristocrats and make the Governing class actually fear the voting public like the pollutions do in Europe. So we are stuck in the 17th Century, with 17th Century values (such as religious fundamentalism) which is one of the reasons the British kicked out the Puritans and banished them to the Americas. The Puritans were probably the most unpleasant people and bigoted and downright evil people you could meet. Everyone had to agree with them or they had license to torture and kill you. (Look at the Salem witch trials)
So America has grown up with a vast majority of the lower classes coming from either Criminals, or Religious Zealots.
Also people with no morals and no problem killing raping, starving the Native Americans off their land.
We are still doing it to the Native Americans with their water rights, the BIA (Bureaus of Indian Affairs) lost $3billion dollars that belonged to the Native Americans and when it was found just said "oh well. nothing we can do about it, it's gone."
So is it surprising that a bunch of drunk rednecks would shoot law abiding people first without any questions being asked. Is it surprising that we put in Prison more people than the entire world combined. Is it a problem that when the Torture of prisoners at Abugrade in Iraq came to light it was being conducted by national guard who's day jobs were in the Texas Correctional System and they said in their defense to having the prisoners naked "well its what we do in Texas to break the prisoners there! So we didn't think we were doing anything wrong. Why else would we take pictures?"
And so it goes on. Since we treat our own people so badly I guess we should not be surprised that we treat other people from other countries even worse.

12. This is why independent media has to be supported and promoted with every spare dollar. >
Edited on Fri Dec-19-08 09:50 PM by cooolandrew
The truth will set Americans free and brings about more peace home and away. Rick not important, faux news not important it's owning the message that is the answer to everything. Promote independent media save america that simple really. Every dollar you put towards independent media builds a better future for everyone no matter what the agenda they try to push in DC they cannot fight the truth once it's abundantly known.

The example here is independent media was sypathetic to Katrina victims if more Americans had witnessed the empathetic version of events malitias may would of never happened. TV is a powerful force but it can be overcome if you print the leaflets posters and keep putting out our view of events.

13. That is the worst Katrina video I've seen yet.
Edited on Fri Dec-19-08 09:39 PM by Seldona
I had no idea these race related murders and attempted murders were going on, though I suppose it is no suprise. If those drunks from that video haven't been arrested, or at least investigated, then something is seriously wrong.

A Task Force should assigned to investigate. These people deserve justice.

15. So these people sit around...
...right in front of the cameras, drinking beer and gnawing on ribs and bragging about a "pheasant shoot", and no one in authority is able to do anything about it? Really?????

I remember how the news reports kept trying to palm off the idea that the blacks were out of control after Katrina. I remember how each story, later, would prove to be false.

Yet here we have people blatantly admitting to shooting their neighbors just because they could, talking about how great it was. And no one in authority can (or more correctly, *will*) do a damned thing about it.

This was supposed to be a nation of laws. What the hell ever happened to that notion?
