1. I don't think he's clueless.
The only other thing he could have said was the truth, that the shoe thrower represented the outrage of the world at this murderous, corporate regime that Bush currently figure-heads.

just how much encouragement people would need to knock them down...here or in Iraq. Not much I suspect.
