5. I think he's a great speaker
but he's at his best in hearings, IMO, and especially on his core issues like the environment. That's why I'm so looking forward to the SFRC this session, climate change is going to be a top priority. Here's a good one from last April on deforestation.

9. I think he is a fantastic speaker
I love the issue speeches he has given at colleges, where he is interesting and does a fantastic job explaning the issue and then giving his solution.

He also can be a very eloquent speaker - and is far more often than Bill Clinton. His 1971 speech still holds up beautifully. I wish more people would have heard his 2006 Faneuil Hall speeches. (One thing those speeches and his 2008 convention speech had in common was that he wrote them.)

8. That is great - his explanation of
replacing short plane flights with high speed rail sounds great.

Here's a link to a Daily Kos Diary that Beachmom wrote on Kerry's bill. He has spoken often of the need for high speed rail, including on his book tour.

11. You go, Senator Kerry
Boy, I'm glad he got re-elected - he's got so much common sense. He's right on the money with train travel. All you have to do is watch "North By Northwest" again to see all the wonders.:toast:

12. BRILLIANT!
i have always felt we really lost something as a nation with the downfall of the railways. they were such an integral part of our history. and they are just plain romantic.
