Wal-Mart Worker Crushed to Death in Early Morning Stampede of Shoppers on Black Friday

A Wal-Mart employee in Long Island, New York died after being trampled to death by a mob of shoppers on Friday, the traditional first day of the holiday shopping season. The 34-year-old worker Jdimytai Damour was killed after a crowd of 2,000 broke down store doors and ran over him shortly before the store"s schedule 5 a.m. opening. Four shoppers were injured in the stampede. Nassau County police were trying to determine what happened during the stampede, but said it was unclear if there would be any criminal charges

1. He had no crowd control training and I bet they try to blame him for that

He had only been on the job a week and from a temp agency...no training. I don't know if this is how the employers will get out of responsibility or not, but I know he should have had some sort of training and I think it was the employers job to see he got it before work. At 6 feet 5 inches and 270 lbs, it's just shocking this could have happened to him. EVERYONE was supposed to have had to walk over or around him to get in. Sad.

2. Physical Size of Deceased

I read one of the NY reports that stated the trampled worker was placed at the front of the store precisely because of his imposing stature.(Now whether he was HIRED just FOR this purpose,I don't know...maybe management thought it was cheaper to hire a burly temp than a rent a cop.) This would indicate to me that management could reasonably predict a "rush"of shoppers. So WHY were police not standing OUTSIDE and INSIDE the door? The report also mentioned that all the WalMart security was INSIDE the store,prior to opening the doors. Why were they not outside,too, and where were they when the temp was being trampled?
