What an encouraging speech. Rebuilding crumbling infrastructure and focusing on green energy can solve a lot of our problems. I am so glad to hear him announce he will be focusing his leadership in this direction.

4. A petty peeve

Was it just me, or was he looking to the side of the camera instead into it? It didn't seem like he was looking directly at us, and that was slightly distracting (I said it was a petty peeve, didn't I?)

even something simple like these is better than nothing. I'm sure the company would DONATE it to 'em, but if they are talking about 'message is important', the fact that you were distracted by this reading to the right of camera shows that it is not helping him with his message. It is worse when you enlarge the video to full screen.

Hope. Optimism. A freaking plan. When is the last time we got this from a President? I think every time Obama gives a speech, my blood pressure drops several points. It's wonderful.

And yes, the camera angle was much better this time. I'd like them to zoom in further to Obama's face, though.

I wanted to say I liked the background better too. This was more intimate and relaxing. I liked the "window" in the background - was it a window? - I think it gave a better sensei level to the message.

Presidents for decades have been giving us weekly radio addresses. It's great to see this one going modern and giving us a weekly web address.

finally a person with Presidential bearing that calls upon all of us, that says "tough times ahead, but I have a plan". That we can all deal with, cause we know it's not a bed of roses before us to straighten out the mess created by the previous maladministration. Let's start NOW.

20. I wonder if people are tuning into his 'weekly addresses' as much as they

did the videos during the campaign?

I certainly hope they do. Here we have a president willing to, able to, and actually IS reaching out to everyone in our nation, keeping everyone apprised of his plans, of the actions he intends to take to fix the mess for which the criminals in the White House are responsible. It would certainly be a waste if people became complacent and/or felt overwhelmed and lost their enthusiasm for the new administraiton. We need everyone's attention and support now as much as we needed it during the election.
