1. Sure......not gonna waste my time
b/c although it SHOULD happen, it DOESN'T. And the LEAST likely place it will happen is in TEXAS or FLORI-DUH.

17. It just played for me
YouTube does that. If the particular video is getting hammered, it occasionally says the video is no longer available. Wait a while, and it'll come back.

5. A set-up, maybe
So Bush can pardon Chemey and himself before he is out of office.

7. It's a state grand jury issuing the indictment, so Bush couldn't pardon him.

9. Keep getting truth out in Texas printing hard copy posting articles door to door.>

Let's take Texas next time around if we can change the hearts and minds there we can do it anywhere and more people understand more that Barack Obama at least needs a shot at getting this right. Great work to those there working on the non stop campaign to a 2nd term.

12. Have to change the laws about voting machines if you want to win TX.
It's the home of Diebold, and that company along with the other voting machine companies there provide the Repubs with a lock on the vote counting everywhere.

IMHO, both GA and TX are actually blue, but we won't realize it until we get paper everywhere and required robust audits.

11. I know if someone said 'Dick Cheney is here to visit you' in prison
I'd probably just sit in my prison cell rather than get a visit from the V.P. - who knows what is up his sleeve. Power corrupts and he's been hiding a bit more than usual.

13. Couldn't they at least wait until Obama was in?
So Bush wouldn't get a chance to pardon him?

Hell, just wait until the next Jury convenes.

14. I sure wish people would get more schooled on this subject
I will say this, for the one millionth time, about Impeachment as it applies to pardons. Win or Lose, once Impeachment proceedings are started, THE PARDONING POWERS GO AWAY, NADA, ZILCH, NO WAY, GONE, PFFFFT, OUTTA THERE! They can't pardon an EGGPLANT once the Impeachment Proceedings start! The main problem is that Nancy Necon Pelosi is complicit in the illegal wiretapping and Torture Memos and will go down with them if this was brought up. I say GOOD, as long as it gets Cheney and Bush (with all their flunkies) prosecuted. If no one gets a pardon, EVERYONE gets to testify and go to jail. Hammer Pelosi and especially John Conyers to START THE PROCEEDINGS!!!

15. Welcome to DU Titonwan....
Respond to about a dozen more posts and then you'll be able to start a thread on this.

I wish I knew more about the rules of pardoning and impeachment. You seem to know, as I said, start a post on this ...please.

18. The problem is, with only 2 months to go
and in such a "post-partisan" era, is an impeachment is far less likely than a Bush pardon.

Welcome to DU.

19. First, "Welcome to DU"..... If I'm understanding you correctly, if impeachment
procedures are started (in the house?) before the president, for example *, leaves office, that * can't pardon ANYONE?

Oh PLEASE let that be the case! :bounce:

21. Wrong. Bush doesn't lose any powers until he's been found guilty by the Senate
and thrown out of office (i.e., he's no longer the president.)

The Constitution just says he cannot pardon anyone from an impeachment verdict.
