O'Reilly Factor: Dennis Miller's Homophobic Joke About Barney Frank

Huffington Post | Nicholas Graham | November 12, 2008 08:54 PM

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/12/oreilly-factor-dennis-mil_n_143445.html

Dennis Miller appeared on The O'Reilly Factor tonight (Miller is a frequent guest on Bill O'Reilly's show) and went on a rant regarding what Barack Obama should do to the executives of AIG when he takes office, namely, that Obama "should flatten these punks" and "come down hard on them." After Miller finished his rant, O'Reilly chimed in that Obama's next move should be "to arrest Barney Frank, correct?" Miller replies, "Eh, Barney might want to be arrested." (Italics mine)

It seems to us that Frank, the most prominent openly-gay member of the House of Representatives, is being slurred by Miller for his homosexuality. The reactions of O'Reilly and Miller confirm that Miller's joke was inappropriate, to say the least. Watch and judge for yourself.

5. When was Dennis Miller ever funny?
Never that I can recall. He may have read a few funny bits on SNL that someone else wrote.

9. I respectfully disagree. He was teh_funnay when he was on SNL.
I enjoyed the hell out his Weekend Update. Enough broad humor to satisfy the punters but enough abstruse references to keep the eggheads satisfied, with his trademark sarcasm all over the place. He was LOL funny then.

As soon as Bush came into his own and DM got all wet over him though, he let his inner conservative out. And his inner douchebag too.

8. He was a pretty decent comedian before Bush took office. I actually got his arcane historical
references in his high-brow humor.

However, after Bush took office, Dennis Miller "switched" to the dark side and fully supported Bush/Cheney and the neo-cons. He's never looked back.

than condoning rape between men who are locked up. And the thought of Barney getting raped and just loving it is, well, hilarious. :sarcasm: If I were Barney, I would sue. I wish some group who's mission is to rid prisons from sodomists would sue them on Barney's behalf. Remember those jolly pranksters in The Shawshank Redemption? Oh, it just doesn't get any funnier that? :sarcasm:

11. He was good before
becoming a country and western comic. His career is over, and the audience he now appeals to doesn't require thoughtful humor or irony or satire. Very juvenile indeed. Does he have scabs on his knuckles yet?

12. The Fear Factor
After 9/11, Dennis Miller completely lost his mind. He was scared shitless and made no bones about it. The way he immediately changed his worldview and his persona seemed way over the top, maybe because the attacks triggered something relating to his early personal life. I think Miller has one of the fastest wits around. It's incongruous that he would destroy his career with such bile and reactionary bullshit. He should have sought professional help instead of resurfacing as a paranoid crypto-fascist.

Stick a fork in him...he is done.:scared:

24. You're right. I think he still had his HBO show then.
I remember watching him w/ hitchens as his guest. He was agreeing w/ everything hitchens said. then he went into a nasty anti-immigrant rant. I remember wondering, who watches your kids, prepares your meals, manicures your lawn? Last time I watched him it was so disgusting.

23. Archaic grammar alert!
"thou" means "you", y'know. Would you say "You does protest....."? C'mon! It's that "th" suffix you're looking for. "Doth". Thou doth. Thou goeth. Thou typeth. Y'know! (Th'knoweth?) Sorry, but I can't help it. Personally, I love the "formal" you, thou.

Oh, and BTW, all grammar aside, Dennis does protest too much.....and talk too much. and breathe too much.

And he was never funny. Amusing occasionally, but out & out funny? Nope.
