4. Mission Accomplished was done on purpose so that US did not have to

treat Iraqi military as POW's and give them their rights under the Geneva Conventions which we had up until that point. We immediately released all of the POW's we had in POW camps. And the US could now treat the Iraqi Military (who was still fighting a war) as 'insurgents' and civilian criminals and terrorists that had no rights and protections against imprisonment or torture. This was so that the US could get quick intelligence on the WMD's by torture.

This is why they said that "Major military operations were finished" Bush is still telling lies. Maybe he doesn't know why the 'Mission Accomplished' was done but those in the Pentagon and on the battle field knew only too well it was done to by pass international war time laws.
