Man, did Hubert get it right with the last part of his statement.

3. Wonder how LBJ interpreted that remark.

There's a new documentary, Virtual JFK, wherein it is asserted that Hubert actually opposed VN from the getgo, writing a three and a half page letter to Johnson shortly after being sworn in as veep in '65.

LBJ ignored the letter and cut him out of the loop after that.


So says the film. I recollect HHH making entirely voluntary upbeat rationales hilighting the 'progress' that the USA was making in the war, etc. etc. etc.

seeing Hubert Humphrey ...I worked for him in that election..first time I ever worked for someone in an election. He was a good man, who would have gotten us out of Viet Nam, he couldn't say so..cause of his boss at the time..LBJ..

For those who don't think so..look at who won...?...Richard Nixon..
