Okay, quick question:

"How do you know when Ted Stevens is lying?"

3. Alternative
Ted Old Boy, listen up. We are not going to buy that idea of your operating in alternative realities simultaneously. You were convicted in this reality. If you choose to be not convicted in your alternative reality that is up to you and yourself. You have got to pay the piper in this reality however. He's coming to collect.

5. I'm not sure I understand this country
A convicted felon cannot vote, but they are allowed to not only to run for election in the highest seats of government, but allowed to continue serving when they are found guilty of abusing and corrupting the very seat they occupy?

A big, fat WTF?

6. here are Stevens' words explaining his contention:
From the NY Times:

“I have not been convicted of anything yet,” he said, a reference to the fact that a conviction does not formally take place until a judge enters final judgment upon sentencing. The guilty verdicts, he said, were “a temporary situation,” an incremental setback until a judge throws them out or Mr. Stevens wins on appeal.

It was a distinctive way of seeing things, to be sure, but Mr. Stevens, 84, a practicing lawyer in Alaska before he entered politics and now the longest-serving Republican in Senate history, has never been one to stay down on the mat.
