Donors funded Sarah Palin's $150,000 wardrobe. Should the clothes be sold on eBay and the proceeds donated to charity?

Via Politico: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14805.html

"The Republican National Committee has spent more than $150,000 to clothe and accessorize vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her family since her surprise pick by John McCain in late August."

"The cash expenditures immediately raised questions among campaign finance experts about their legality under the Federal Election Commission's long-standing advisory opinions on using campaign cash to purchase items for personal use."

3. I'm torn about this one
I don't think they should have spent so much money, I think they could have outfitted everyone with good seperates and shoes for 20-30K easily, including dress clothes and appropriate suits for Sarah. But I think it had to be done. Look at Hillary's beautiful wardrobe of suits and accessories, none of the pictures of the Governor before her selection were anyway up to par, in comparison.

I think when you pluck someone from obscurity and put them on a national stage like that unprepared, you should make sure they are appropriate and presentable. And what may have worked for a more casual governor's office is not appropriate on the national stage. I think the RNC or McCain should have paid for her new working wardrobe, personally.

But I do agree that they could have done it for an eighth of what they spent and then, like the caller on MSNBC today said "spent the rest on lessons about the Consititution." LOL
