7. Harsh????
He's just giving it back to those sadly persecuted people. Those poor, poor xtrians! I feel so sorry for them.

9. too those who claim to be persecuted, I could care less
but when he generalizes about all religious people, I think it is a bit harsh... there are very decent, intelligent folks who are religious...

I still like Bill Maher and still watch his show, so don't think I'm here just to dump on the guy. If it weren't for his show a few years back, I would have thrown out cable altogether, although I must admit, I love the Science Channel.

6. That term is thrown around so much
There are lots of good Americans, I'd like to think I'm one. But being considered a great American, seems to me, should require some fairly high standards.

Bachman is a German name, I wonder if her ancestors were saying much the same in Germany a while ago. I suppose I should google her history and discover when the Bachmans sort refuge in a tolerant faith free, liberty for all land just an interesting possibility. Maybe she should do that herself.

5. Religion SHOULD be mocked
It's ridiculous.

Why should Religion get a pass on the same kind of rationalism and criticism we all use when...oh...comparing and buying groceries, or a car. We think it over, consider the costs, and whether the perks and advertising is realistic, justifiable and believable.

We laugh (or should)at fools who fell for it and bought Kinoki foot pads, why not those who fall for the absurdities of religion.

8. I agree, but it will be some time before it's "OK" to mock religion.
The more we stand up against it, the more acceptable it will be to question crazy-ass religions that should have been questioned long ago.
