Palin makes pitch in Lancaster
GOP vice-presidential nominee rallies supporters here before trip to New York and ‘Saturday Night Live'

Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin made her pitch for a ninth-inning comeback in Pennsylvania at Clipper Magazine Stadium Saturday morning.

Palin hit Democratic rival Barack Obama hard on tax policy, drawing enthusiastic support and boos for her rival from the estimated crowd of more than 10,000.

"It's the choice between a politician who puts his faith in government and a leader who puts his faith in you," she said.

"Our opponent wants to raise taxes," she said to a chorus of boos from the crowd.

Recent polls put John McCain considerably behind Obama in the state. According to an average tallied by Pollster.com, McCain trails Obama by more than 10 percentage points in Pennsylvania.

More than 10,000 tickets were given out for the rally, which marked Palin's second visit to Lancaster, said Dave Dumeyer, chairman of the county GOP.

1. hmm... i am finding more and more that the republican presidential and vp candidates are
saying things that are SOO true!!

"It's the choice between a politician who puts his faith in government and a leader who puts his faith in you," she said.

that's right! mccain and palin want government to police our 'values' while obama has faith in the people to make choices for themselves. and to demand more from their leaders.

2. She's not Caribou Barbie - she's Teleprompter Tessy. Saturday Night Live proved that!

Thanks SNL - for taking a risk, by showing that Sarah Palin is merely (you Mac folks will remember) a 'Talking Moose' - type in the words, and it speaks. No thought. No inflection. Just a plug into the teleprompter. Great for Entertainment Tonight but bad for American governing.

God speed Sarah - talk all you can! You're helping Democrats with every word!

(old technology - just like Sarah Palin)

3. "boos for her rival" -- I'm sure Palin chastised her audience, like Obama did when McCain was booed.
