1. What is the motivation of the person who posted this video?
Edited on Sun Oct-19-08 03:16 AM by Ken Burch
If you had an issue with Cohen, why didn't you post this in the primary(not that his insane antisemitic opponent would've been better).

I accept that their was a genocide against the Armenians, but it's not as though Rep. Cohen is to blame for it.

Also, if you invade the guy's house with cameras, of course he's going to freak out on you. Anybody would.

(On edit), according to the comments on You Tube, the producers of this video were apparently supporters of Rep. Cohen's primary opponent. Those watching this should know that.

3. Re: motivation
Isn't it obvious? We should call out prejudice wherever it occurs, and anyone who denies Genocide should be called out on it.

Cohen said he was 'proud' to have defeated the recognition of the Armenian Genocide bill last year, it's time we call out any politician who whitewashes the past to please convenient allies, or the country will continue in the wrong moral direction we have been on.

By the way the person who coined the word 'Genocide' used the Armenian Genocide as its primary example.

Regarding the house, he is holding a press conference there, not sure if he is using campaign money for the news conference.

2. What a dick this Congressman is.He surely doesn`t seem to like Armenians and he...
needs to learn history too. There was a genocide committed against the Armenians by the Ottoman state. But let`s not forget all the Assyrians, Greeks and Kurds that were also killed.I wonder how much the Turkish state has paid this guy to deny the Armenian genocide. He should be ashamed of himself.

6. It's probably tied into a "pro-Israel" thing.
AIPAC was opposed to that resolution because of Israel's alliance with Turkey.

You'd think Cohen would be embarassed by this alliance, considering that Hitler stated that the Armenian genocide(and the lack of any global outrage about it whatsoever at the time)was what gave him the idea for the "Final Solution".

5. Hmm....
Where exactly does he "deny" the Armenian genocide?

The video does establish that he ( Cohen) embellishes the facts re. harrassment.

Also re. "breaking" in the house: Someone appears to *let* him in the house in a rather conventional manner. He then appears to leave in a reasonable way when Cohen insists upon it.

Obviously there's more to the story.

(It's frankly, pretty impressive that local... Memphis?.... tv news would devote this much coverage to this kind of story.)

7. Good video
What was his reason for opposing the bill? What $ is he getting? What assasinations? Where is he getting his information?
