They only have enough time to give each viewpoint 10 seconds but then they put that same crap on a loop 24x7. With the vast program capacity available on cable systems, you'd think there might be some way to have a reasonable discussion that doesn't require everybody to rudely butt in to the other person, ending up in a shouting match that ends up getting no useful information discussed.

Why does it have to be either these 10-second glimpses or a 40-minute program on CSPAN? Why can't there be something in-between?

Why is it that the most insightful, revealing interviews happen on Letterman and The Daily Show (comedy programs)?
