We also made our first donation to Tinklenberg tonight even though we do not live in his district. I hope others will follow up. We have got to defeat Bachmann. She is a national embarrassment and genuinely dangerous to democracy.

7. I know alot of folks here like Rachel Maddow for some reason

But I find her extremely unprofessional. She can be a bit annoying at times too.

She has a telegenic face and a good voice. If she just calmed her @ss down and stopped acting like a college cheerleader, I think it could only make her that much better. Maybe she does it because she's nervous... I dunno...

8. I think both she and Olbermann act like they're fed up with the surreal

nature of US politics today . . . which makes perfect sense to me . . . but, the delivery can come across as a little less than professional from both of them no matter how much I agree with what they're saying.

With exactly the punch and emphasis I want it delivered. There are a few times I need to hear reports delivered in conversational tones but not often. When I do, I tune to National Propaganda Radio (NPR).... for just a few minutes is about all I can stand before I find myself yelling at the radio for their obfuscations, half truths, or just flat out lies.

Lightheartedness combined with amazing insight and far higher intellectualism than any of us have ever seen on TV before.

She's something new. An original. May take some getting used to since TV has been the bastion of achingly predictable dullards for so long.

But follow her thinking. She puts 2 and 2 and 2 and 2 together every night and finds that it has far graver import than merely their total of 8.

I call her the Nancy Drew of buried news.

I live in Australia so pretty much all I've seen of Rachel Maddow are the clips her on DU. I've found easily 60% of her videos to be annoying but I haven't written her off yet. She's got plenty of time to win me over. :)

....on AirAmerica radio for years now.

Her approach is surprising: depth combined with silliness. Cheerfulness combined with visions of the apocalypse. But she patrols the back pages not only of the NY Times but the Arkansas City Traveler to the Congressional Record and finds the missing dots for our connections.

14. Bachmann Speaks, Her Opponent Reaps

Bachmann's opponent, El Tinklenberg, has raised over $100,000 since her appearance on Tweety last night.

This race is close - El is within the margin of error (about a 4% difference, and all this publicity can only help). And the DCCC recently added him to the Red to Blue campaign.

Please consider giving any amount to El so we can get this nutcase out of the House.
