1. Maybe Ed finally learned his lesson.
I wish other Libs would take note.

Imagine if NO LIBS agreed to set foot on their set?

Let them talk to themselves.

2. Good for him!
I have often wished that guests would walk off the Chris Matthews set, in the rare occasions that I watched him. All these "hosts" just want to hear themselves. The only one who patiently waits and lets his guests talk as long as they want is Olbermann.

4. I don't know why any liberal/progressive goes on Fox.
If we just ignored them completly, the American people would notice. After a while, people would wonder why Fox was nothing but an echo chamber. (OK, it's that already.) I think we legitimize them when we go on their nonsense channel.

They need to learn some common courtesy.

7. He said don't interupt and they did anyway.Might as well leave since they won't let him talk without
interruption. Have a guest on ...ask him a question...then talk over and interrupt him. Besides, it had nothing to do with $250 thousand bullshit, it has to do with the wealthy not paying their fair share of income taxes, and Joe being a phony lying plant who wasn't buying a business, makes $40k and owes back taxes

8. If you can't stand the heat...
Not very impressive here.

First, in the interest of full disclosure, I've never much liked Ed. It's a personality thing, I guess. He just doesn't appeal to me as a person, despite the fact that we are on the same side of most issues.

And in all fairness, I think he's a very talented radio host and one of the better radio interviewers I've ever heard. I just don't care much for his personality.

His huge ego is offensive to my personal sensibilities (I call him BIG HEAD) and he strikes me as the Left's version of Rush. Very similar style to me.

He's always bragging about himself...and can't stop doing the "Listen to me talk on Larry King last night!!!"

That's what really got me to stop listening. I mean, if you've got a good thought, "do it live" (as the saying goes) on your radio show. Constantly playing recordings of you talking on T.V. and congratulating yourself on what you said seems really vain to me.

Anyway...I watched this clip and his sudden departure struck me as weak. I watch partisans on the hot seat on T.V. getting beat up every day, and they can keep smiling and retort and leave with dignity. In this case, he showed that, despite his other strengths I mentioned above, he couldn't handle 3 minutes or so up against the Fox machine. That doesn't speak well for him. He stormed off like a little kid. Very unlike his otherwise professional radio skills.

Yes, I don't much like Ed in terms of his personality.
Yes, I do think he's a very good talk show host and expert interviewer on the radio, and a major plus to have on our side even though I can't stand to listen to him much of the time.
Yes, I think he did himself no service by letting the Fox machine rip him to shreads by failing to stand up to them.

If you can't stand the heat...

19. Many don't think much of Shultz
You hit the main points on Ed Shultz. My thoughts are that no one who gives a damn about fairness should go on FOXnews period. But I suppose Ed's ego couldn't stop him. It can be argued Ed Shultz is not really even a liberal but more of a moderate whose main focus is himself.

22. The greater point...
...that I think most are making here is that Lefty's shouldn't legitimize Fox News Channel by even going on. I have mixed feelings about that.

While I agree that acknowledging something more or less legitimizes it, I also think that we shouldn't sit back and let them get away with what they do. We do need 'capable' individuals to go on their shows and mop the floor with them - as occasionally happens. And obviously, it's exposure to a very big audience as well - one that you might not otherwise ever reach. Not that you're going to sway most of them, but maybe a few.

In this case, my real point was merely that Ed is not a 'capable' individual for this task, and he proved that here. I mean, we've been talking about 'temperament' in this race, and Ed clearly didn't have it here.

24. "Lefties" shouldn't legitimize Faux News by appearing on their network. Period.
This serves as a good example. Faux News won't let Democrats get a word in when it's their turn to speak & their intention of having Democrats on as guests is strictly so that they can gang up on them to humiliate them. The Rethug-mouthpiece network is afraid of what the Democrats will say because they know it to be the real truth; they have contempt for their own viewers' intelligence when they don't let the viewers decide for themselves.

12. Yep. I think that was his point. If you can't treat your
guests/opponents with courtesy, you'll find the seat next to you empty.
Not a very good strategy for ratings.

1 minute would have sufficed - how do I get back the braincells that were lost in the extra 4 minutes of stupidness on Fux "News"?

13. I don't know why libs agree to go on these shows.
They know they're only going to get shouted down. So they have two choices: go, take the shouting and try to make your point in spite of it, or don't go on at all. You don't go on Faux News expecting civil discourse or a real interview. They just like to point to the five seconds of air time they gave Ed as proof that they're "balanced."

I love it when Rachel Maddow has Pat Buchanan on. She lets him make his point, clearly disagrees with everything he says but does so with respect and seems to relish the honest give-and-take. You know, talking like grownups. She's the classiest act in TV news today.

14. I hope he starts a trend
If conservatives want to yell, then they can yell in a studio alone. Kind of like the great Hindenburg Limbaugh flaming away in front of the microphone. It does no good to try to compete on their level (i.e. more shouting), so just leave.

(in regards to his windmill scheme) because he was nearing death. My mind exploded. Ed Schultz is not one of my AAR 'liberals'.

20. T Boone should be ignored
He may have some valid points about energy, but he is not reliable and definitely not honest. The financier of the Kerry swiftboat liars has proved his dishonesty, and his reliabilty on where the energy dollars should be spent focuses on allowing utilities to reap profits rather than making homes solar powered and self sufficient. A few months ago he guaranteed oil would never again drop below $100 a barrel, we hit the high 60's this week. Not that that is good or bad, but it indicates Pickens is just guessing like everyone else.

25. I think that it was brilliant that Ed Schultz left at the beginning of the
segment. It left a lot of dead air to fill.

It also showed that the hosts could not properly manage their show, and when called on to 'improvise,' they could not do that. It shut down the show, and all they could do was whine. Their whole game plan was to bloody the lib'rul for the Faux News viewer. They failed to deliver. What a bunch of airheads.
