1. "The East Coast was American enough for al Qaeda..."

Brilliant!

As an East Coaster (in NC) I have to say I'm friggin' sick and tired of that cowboy/pioneer mentality crap from the West... the big empty West that is shored up by money from BOTH coasts. (Alaska is a friggin' welfare state!) I would also remind those armchair pioneers out west that we here in the East went thru all that pioneer stuff (basically killing the natives and stealing their land) in the 17th and 18th century. It's all so old hat. We got over that phase before anyone knew what was on the other side of the Mississippi. That cowboy crap is worse than the "rebel" crap I have to put up with down here.

Apologies to all those folks out west who have already shrugged off the cowboy crap.

2. New York City is one of the friendliest places

I have ever traveled to. And I have been all over this country on business and other trips. I thought the first time I was there that it must be a fluke but after several more trips, I can honestly say, that individuals are friendlier on the street than the little midwestern town I have lived in for 14 years. And I do like where I live. NYC is that much friendlier.
