sexual orientation but when used to say something is bad feels just wrong. Also good to see Aitken came out if more famous people come out then it will only mean folks will have to be more accepting as they can't abandon all their idols. Some intolerant people may well be surprised who isn't as straight as they think. Some have said Aitken is that important it kind of is really as if we take this form of intolerance off the table what will the Republican party have left. Abortion maybe which isn't even in the bible let's defang the beast that is the GOP. Yes, the Democratic party needs work too in this area but general acceptacne will help that along. THe major difference here our party doesn't use it as a means to divide and through that be elected.

12. There were issues about it 2 years ago
Gay means rubbish, says BBC :

THE word “gay” now means “rubbish” in modern playground-speak and need not be offensive to homosexuals, the BBC Board of Governors has ruled.

A listener complained after Chris Moyles dismissed a ringtone by saying on his Radio 1 breakfast show: “I don’t want that one, it’s gay.”

The complainant argued that the use of the word gay in this context was homophobic. The governors said, however, that Moyles was simply keeping up with developments in English usage.

The programme complaints committee noted: “The word ‘gay’, in addition to being used to mean ‘homosexual’ or ‘carefree’, was often now used to mean ‘lame’ or ‘rubbish’. This is a widespread current usage of the word amongst young people.”

Before anyone falls into the trap of thinking the expression "young people" refers to teens and younger it was in common usuage in the above context at least twenty ago so assume below age 40 or so.
