1. Frankly, he seemed to lose his thread.

It seemed like he was working toward, "Sen. McCain and I do not know all the challenges ahead -- noone does. And that's where judgment comes in...."
It was a bit unreasonable to make a final answer also a closing statement.

The question about health care being a commodity was a profound one, and Barack also went into a rehearsed answer. His answer, however did address the problem. McCronyism's answer could have been "Yes."

2. I found this statement by Obama to particularly moving.
He speaks to the basic reality of what change really means and what it would take. In particular, when he stated if we have the nerve for it. No illusion that it will be cakewalk, as much as many would like it to be. I get the feeling he doesn't take his position for granted. That's good. Because there are going to be a lot of domestic enemies to his presidency. Thirty years of breeding hate toward liberals and immigrants is going to be steaming angry when he's elected. Despite that, Obama seems to have a clear sense of what it'll take to make America a great country.

What I like best about his talks is that he is "compelling". I don't feel like I'm trying to be convinced of something like I do with mccain Instead, it feels more like an offering for a better future based on plans for us to work together. Obama makes the future of our country and our people curiously interesting again. Because for all our planning, the future always holds surprises. I just get the feeling he's willing to accept reality as it is and will work to get us to do the best we can in any circumstance. It's not just about him.

He's no empty suit like that gray ghost that was lurking in the background.

3. I thought this was his weakest answer of the night
It was hard because he needed to wrap up, too. Still, it would have been interesting to know who he would tap for knowledge. Kind of like when he said Buffet (ack? really?) would be somebody to tap earlier - forget the question. I'd like to know who he's thinking of for his administration, especially on the economic front. But he's keeping vague for as long as he can because giving clarity might alienate somebody (my guess).
