5. Matt Lauer is a dipshit for that one.
I loved the answer...he might as well have been saying (very nicely and gracefully) that Uncle Ted is still way more lucid than Lauer. That much is for sure. It was the perfect answer, in a way.

7. Matt Lauer was the guy who suggested that
if the Federal Gov't had not talked about the housing problems at the beginning and the stagnating economy then it wouldn't have caused people to panic so much and create so much bad feelings.

He's an idiot, who, if he lived in any other country on this planet would be living in a box begging for money

8. As if Robert Kennedy Jr's name might suggest who his father is
Lauer might want to look into getting an MRI.

9. It was an unintentional mistake.
A realllllly stupid mistake. Edward Kennedy is known to have taken the father role to many of his neices and nephews whose fathers were murdered.

10. K&R. RFK Jr. handled this like a pro, but there's no excuse for Lauer's horrible faux pas...

11. While I'm certainly no fan of Lauers, I don't think this was anything more than an innocent error.

14. Innocent? Maybe. Stupid? Definitely.

The guy is supposed to be a damned journalist. He should have his facts straight. Knowing that Robert F Kennedy JR is NOT the son of Ted Kennedy is no brainer. He states in the intro that he is the son of attorney general Robert F Kennedy. Does he not know who that is? He's nothing more than a talking head. How the hell do so many incompetent people gain such prestigious positions?

16. Oh, I'm sure that he just misspoke and probably feels terrible about it.
Actually, the same thing happened to me, a very sweet older lady asked me how my Dad was doing and she had come to his wake. However, this was not on national television... Lauer should be held to a higher standard, IMHO. Not to belabor the point, but I hope that he apologized profusely, off camera...:-(

15. oooh, that's a really tacky gaffe
Kennedy is way classier than me. I would have replied "he's still dead" or something along that line.
