16. Big time F.slip there - especially considering the context. Wow.
It's almost as if that is the secret plan.

9. When you regurgitate memorized talking points, these sorts of speaking errors occur.
Edited on Fri Oct-03-08 12:43 AM by Fridays Child
On the other hand, when you have a solid familiarity with ideas, and the words used to articulate them, you tend to have far fewer instances of becoming tongue-tied.

Words can be filed in the brain in multiple ways. One way is simply by how they sound. Another way is by the meanings attached to them in various contexts. Without experience, or even any genuine interest, regarding the issues, all Sarah had to work with, tonight, was how the associated words sounded. This put her at risk of pulling similar sounding words out of her files, so to speak.

She also said "equal rice" instead of "equal rights," and I'm sure there were other examples of "filing errors."

14. She did correct herself right afterwards...
And I actually think it is easier to tell that she said "leave" and not "lead" when you hear her make the correction. The fact that she corrected herself does not make this clip useless though, because the fact is that she did say "leave" and that tells us what we need to know.

17. Is it just me, or is the last consonant sound on the last word cut off?
Leave or lead, you can't tell because the last word is cut off in mid-utterance. That is why I said the video is useless.
